In the original plot, Lian An had both Jin Jiang and Qi Cheng who pursued her. Both men had a tacit understanding to protect her; Jin Jiang would protect her in the light, while Qi Cheng would protect her from the dark.
Originally, Qi Cheng should have followed Lian An due to jealousy after seeing her flirting with Jin Jiang; he wanted to confront her.
However, when he arrived at the cliff, he was in time to see Hong Feng push Lian An towards the ledge. Fear gripped his heart and he rushed to rescue her. Having the beauty safe in his arms, Qi Cheng decided to let Hong Feng experience her own actions; he threw her down from the cliff.
That time Hong Feng's injured state was worse than Lian An's state right now. With a cracked skull and a deep state of coma that lasted for 10 years due to the sheer fall, Hong Feng could no longer regain her youth. When she woke up, she was already a 30 years old adult with no job and no experience— her study in university wasn't even completed due to the accident. Her family underwent bankruptcy due to Jin Jiang taking his revenge for his new girlfriend, Lian An.
It could be said that Lian An, with one broken leg, and a bruised kidney was able to escape the sheer fall with light injuries.
Perhaps, the female lead halo really worked on her.
Su Yun watched as Lian An was towed away by the ambulance, her body was strapped onto the stretcher. A group of students surrounded the vehicle with concerned expressions— Hong Feng was among them, and she was particularly distinct as she had streaks of tears streaming down her face, evoking pity from the onlookers. Some of her female friends reached out to her, patting her back in an attempt to console her.
The journey to the peak of the mountain ended up cut halfway due to the accident. No one witnessed it except the victim's friend that was there at the scene.
"I don't know what happened," Hong Feng cried as she explained, "I told her to avoid standing on the edge as it was dangerous for her, but she wouldn't listen! When I opened my eyes again she was gone from my sight. It was all my fault, I should have stopped her!"
None of the teachers could blame her as it wasn't really her fault. It was Lian An's own bad luck for falling from the cliff and injuring herself. In the end, the teacher let the rest of the students return to their room. Because of the accident, both teachers and students were exhausted— two hours hike towards the peak, and two hours descending have drained all of their energy. It was already 5 p.m. and the teachers were unwilling to make-shift activities for the students so they simply dismissed them.
Qi Cheng had just closed the door to his room, preparing to take a quick shower, until someone knocked on his door.
"Hm?" Qi Cheng opened the door, and in his view was a naked Su Yun with hair dripping wet and a towel hanging loosely around his waist, as if a simple tugging would let it fall to the ground, revealing the enticing view behind it.
Su Yun returned to his room earlier than others to take a quick shower; he couldn't stand the massive sweats on his body.
That is, until he realised that something was wrong with his shower, and since he was close to the student living beside his room, he decided to ask for his help.
So here he was. In front of the hot-blooded young man, with a naked and seductive body.
The young man was taken aback, his breath turned stagnant in an instant. He quickly withdrew his gaze, raising his eyes to meet Su Yun's pair of green eyes.
