This is the last chapter of Arc 1. I finished writing it today so I decided to publish it earlier. I want to get this arc over with.

Zi Gang watched the floating words in front of him, his thought unknown and his emotions indescribable.
Rebooted, huh...
[Yes.]
The system suddenly thought of something, his curiosity piqued, [Host, I have a question.]
hm?
[You said that it's better for that man to not see you one last time as it would bring him heartache..]
Yeah, so?
[So, why don't you go now? Why don't you just transfer to the next world instead of waiting for your time to end?]
You see..I did say that.
But, I'm a very selfish person.
Even if it will hurt him, I want to see him one last time.
Is it so wrong of me to do that?
To say goodbye?
The system couldn't answer.
Zi Gang raised his sight, looking at the room that was still vacant from the man's presence. The room that contained all of their memories was now drowned in darkness. Loneliness crept up Zi Gang's body, an unpleasant feeling that he hadn't felt in a while. A tired sigh spilled from his lips.
To not hurt him, huh...
A soft chuckle spilled from his lips. I guess so. At the end of the day, my selfish heart could not bear to hurt him.
Zi Gang finally gave a relieved sigh, his mind made a decision. Okay system, I'm transferring earlier.
Delighted, the system quickly asked, [Then, would you like to transfer now?]
Zi Gang looked back on the door that still remained closed. A faint smile blossomed on his lips, so faint one could see the bitterness hidden underneath it.
No. Just... Just let me wait until morning comes. That's possible right?
The system looked at its host that was trying to hide his pain away. A questionable mark appeared on its mind.
[Of course. Take your time, host.]
Thank you.
Walking towards Li Mu's bed, the kitten jumped onto the soft mattress with great agility. He positioned his body on top of Li Mu's pillows, body curling up and sight facing towards the closed door.
Hurry. Hurry come home.
I miss you, Wei Yan.

In the highest floor of the Li Enterprise, soft sunlight streamed in through the clear floor to ceiling windows, sprinkling in and covering the large private office with a hazy glow. The messy executive desk that was always brimming with stacks of papers was now clean and neat from any documents.
A tall handsome man was sleeping on the black leather sofa, still wearing the black suit from the day before. Black eye bags were swelling around his shut eyes, evidence of the countless nights that the man went through.
At that moment, a phone rang in the quiet room, earning a groan from the sleeping man on the sofa. Half unconscious and half awake, the man reached out for it, his hands aimlessly wandered across the coffee table, looking to grab the ringing phone.
"Hello?" The man placed the phone on his ear, his voice was still raspy and dry.
"Young Master!" A weak female voice rang out from the other line, her sobbing voice was especially loud in Li Mu's ears, "Thank god for picking up the phone! Young Master, there's something urgent!"
"Hurry home, Young Master! It's Baby! Something happened to him!"
The man immediately sobered up, he rose up from his sleeping position, his voice serious as he told the woman, "Aunt Sun Zhao, speak slowly. Take a deep breath and tell me what happened to him."
Old maid Sun Zhao followed what the young master told, taking a deep breath, her voice stuttering as she tried to retrace what happened this morning. "Y-young master, th-this morning I went to your bedroom to wake Baby up from his sleep. But when I went to the bed and checked on him, Baby was not breathing— Young Master, I already asked everyone to check his condition as I wasn't sure, but everyone said that Baby— sob, Baby's dead, Young Master!"
"Please, hurry home, Young Master!"

Li Mu didn't remember how he got home. All he remembered was the painful feeling on his chest that almost suffocated him to death throughout the journey.
Looking at the small body that was sleeping peacefully on his pillows, a choke came from Li Mu's lips, his heart twisting in a painful agonizing way. It was just like a hot magma rolling down his throat, spilling over to his internal organs and burning his heart away.
Meeting his gaze, Sun Zhao's eyes turned faintly red, a soft sob came out of her lips. Beside her, Butler Mo lowered his head with a painful expression, looking away and not meeting his inquiring gaze. His unswervingly determined body trembled slightly.
"I'm sorry, Young Master..."
Their words caused the man's heart to tighten fiercely.
"Sorry? What are you sorry for? Baby is just sleeping." His hoarse voice was calm, calmer than he could ever be. "Look at him. Zi-er is sleeping because he's tired."
Yeah, Zi-er is sleeping. We shouldn't bother him...
"Young Master, I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Sun Zhao kept crying, her sobs turned louder in the man's ears.
"Stop crying! Stop saying sorry!" Li Mu gritted his teeth, "Baby is not dead yet! Zi-er is not dead!"
His tone was full of certainty yet his feet did not advance further into the room. Fear gripped his heart, paralyzing him from entering the room.
"Yeah, he's just resting." The man whispered softly. His burning gaze was locked on the small body, so hot that one might fear that magma will spill out. "So all of you lower your voices. Let him rest peacefully."
"Please.., please stop."
With choked sobs, Sun Zhao pulled her young master into her arms, her warmth enveloping him, "Young Master, please stop. Let him go."
"...Baby has already passed."
But it's too late.
The man could no longer hear nor feel a thing except the intense pain that abruptly exploded in his chest. His hand clutching hard on his chest, his body heaving in dry gasps.
No...no more.
Just like a knife stabbing in his heart, pulling out and then jabbing it back in, the pain spreading throughout his bloodstream, every breath he took brought him heartbreaking pain.
He felt the colourful world crumbling around him, falling apart into pieces. His mind was pulled into the dark abyss, his consciousness sinking. The hot magma slowly turned his heart into a hard shell, his emotions firmly sealed inside it, leaving only a subtle pain that remained as a small scar.
Ah...
The grey world appeared once again.
The man's cold voice rang in the dead world. No one who listens and no one who cares.
Zi-er...
Tell me is it my fault that I'm late once again?
Why did you abandon me?
Why.. did you not wait for me?
