Li Mu continued to drift along in the dream, his mind continuously brought up the past that he had long forgotten, letting him experience those pain once again.

However, this time, the scene that was before him was unfamiliar to him in many ways that he was sure it wasn't his memory; it was like an imagination.

Standing in the backyard of some noble's residence, overlooking the beautiful garden in front of him, the man was cladded in black colored brocade that was laced with golden embroidery.

There were no decorations or flourishes to be seen, but it didn't diminish his grandeur or his attractiveness any less. His long ink-dappled hair was simply tied back with a golden hairpin, just like a strain of top-grade silk. With a handsome face as if carved by the gods and sharp features adorning his indifferent appearance, the man exuded an extremely cold aura that puts others away.

But the stark contrast was the delicate young man in his arms. Wearing a white robe that was tied loosely around his body, the young man appeared like a celestial being visiting the earth. His peach blossom eyes blinked adorably as he calmly watched ahead the petals of the peach tree drifted along the currents of the wind. A smile hanging on the edge of his lips, showing a content expression.

The young man laid his back against the other's chest, a pair of arms circled protectively around his waist.

The scene appeared serene and full of intimacy. The man's hard features softened as his narrowing eyes curved into a smile, looking down on the young man in his arms.

"Qian Zhe."

He seemed to call out the young man's name.

The young man distractedly answered, "En?"

"I love you."

"Hm, so suddenly?" Surprised by the sudden declaration, the young man chuckled and answered back, "You know that I love you too."

The man pulled the young man nearer into his arms, hugging him from behind as he buried his head deep in the other's neck, inhaling the sweet scent the young man gave out.

"Let's travel somewhere far after the war ends." The man mumbled.

"Together. Just the both of us."

Qian Zhe who heard the statement paused for a second. The pure and innocent smile that he gave turned stagnant for a second, yet the man didn't notice the minuscule change.

Hiding the bitter expression behind his mask, the young man replied, "En. Sure."

Li Mu wasn't given the time to ponder about the deep feelings that he had for the young man— how the overwhelming affection and obsession he had towards the person named 'Qian Zhe' almost suffocated him to death.

But he was soon transferred to another scene.

Blood suddenly splattered across his face as the body in front of him fall like a puppet whose strings were cut.

Raising up his eyes, what he saw was a gruesome scene.

The battlefield.

Thousands of warriors and cultivators from both side slayed the other with ruthless methods, blood spilled and thousands of bodies fell onto the cold hard ground as their vitality vanished in an instant.
