In the Li Household,

Zi Gang watched the clock hit 12 pm. A sigh leaked out of his lips. His eyes tiredly looked at the door that remained closed.

It's been close to 3 months since his mission has been accomplished. Although his body that was small was now growing, there wasn't a lot of difference as Zi Gang made sure to exercise so he won't get fat. One thing that changed in these few months, however, was the male lead's abnormally packed schedule; the man seemed to have been busier than ever before.

If you think that the previous schedule that the male lead had couldn't get any worse, oh boy, it did. Li Mu rarely went back home these days and even if he did, he would arrive home pretty late. Zi Gang hasn't seen the male lead for the past 2 weeks, his meal and everything else would be done alone.

He couldn't even told the man to bring him along, heck, the man can't even understand what meow meow meow is!

And it seems that today was one of the days that he's not returning.

I guess I should sleep alone again tonight.

Another sigh spilled out of Zi Gang's lips.
His head drooped down listlessly on his paws.

"Baby, let's go to your bed." Old woman Sun Zhao approached him from behind, her voice held concern as she lifted him up into her arms. "It's time for you to go to bed."

"Meow~" The kitten complied.

Bringing the little guy in her arms, Sun Zhao entered her master's bedroom as she tucked the kitten into his small bed located at the bedside corner.

Pulling the small blanket over Zi Gang's small body, the old maid sat across him, her eyes full of sympathy.

"I'm sure you miss your owner," Sun Zhao softly whispered, rubbing the kitten's head with her fingers, "But you see, your owner has a lot of enemies that he has to take care of. So please be patient, alright? Just give him a few more weeks and I'm sure he will spend the rest of his days with you then."

"Meow~"

Zi Gang was not able to tell her that in a few days he wouldn't be here anymore as his time was almost up.

The little kitten looked at the floating words in front of his eyes,

[Countdown: 00:00:03:01:12]

Well, although I couldn't check whether Li Mu is that man, it doesn't change the fact that we have spent our days together in the past 4 months.

I guess it's better for him to not see me one last time as my departure will only bring him heartache.

His departure was also the reason why Zi Gang has been sleeping a lot these days. Sometimes he would go on for a whole day of not eating his meal, worrying the servants in the household for his well being. The next day, however, he would wake up feeling energetic and acting as if the previous day never happened.

Zi Gang watched the old Sun Zhao go out of the room. She turned off the ceiling lights, leaving only a small bedside lamp to light up a small area of the room.

The kitten adjusted his eyesight, his pupils dilating in the darkness.

Zi Gang tried to let the fatigue quickly claim his consciousness, yet the unfamiliar absence of a certain man kept him awake.

Just then, a small negligible sound entered his ears. His pointed ears trembled, and his eyes opened up, looking over towards the cabinet where the sound came from.
