"You two are being idiots! It happened a week ago, it's not funny anymore," I said, hiding a smile.
"Ron had to dance with McGonnagal," george said between laughter while fred imitated it for the tenth time.
Ron sat red faced on the couch and I turned to him. Harry and hermione went to take a round in the library to look for something that could work underwater.
"So why didnt you ask her?" I asked ron.
"What?" He said, turning towards me.
"Why didnt you ask hermione to the ball?" I repeated.
"Oh, well it didnt um occur that um I could have asked her," he mumbled, so I didnt push the subject. The ball was tomorrow, and mum still hadn't sent my dress.
"I'm gonna go check on harry and Hermione," ron said and left the common room. Nigel came in and he had a large parcel in his hands.
"This is for you," he said, handing me the box. I smiled at him and he walked away.
"What's that?" Fred asked.
"My dress for tomorrow remember? I told mum to send me one from home."
"Well come on then, let's see it," george said, settling down.
I opened the box and gasped. The dress was a baby blue with silver sequins dripping from the waist line. The front was shorter than the back, and it reached just under my ankles. I pulled it out and pressed it against my body.
"Wow y/n, not bad," george said examining the dress.
"I know right, its amazing," I said and looked at fred. He hadn't said anything.
"Dont you like it?" I asked him. George nudged him and he spoke.
"Its absolutely stunning. Jaspers a lucky guy," he said, mumbling the last part.

I was applying my lipgloss and spread on the last layer onto my lips. I wasnt a big make up fan, so I just applied some blush, mascara, and lipgloss. I brushed the dust off my dress and put it on. I had put waves into my hair and was ready to go down. Hermione and ginny came in and I smiled at the two of them.
"Ready?" I asked them.
"I think I'm gonna wait a bit," hermione said and ginny nodded.
"Ok then, I guess I'll see you both downstairs," I said and walked out of my dorm.
Fred and george were waiting at the bottom and I skipped down in a pair of white heels. George smiled when he saw my shoes and fred shook his head.
"Of course the heels had to come into play," fred joked. I winked at him and his smile faltered. There was something in his eyes I couldnt describe and looked away.
"Let's get going then," i said and linked my arms with both of theirs.
We walked through the halls and i could see everyone's elaborate dresses. I looked down at mine and frowned. We reached the hall but I stopped before reaching the stairs. The twins looked at me and I smiled.
"You guys go ahead, I need a minute," i said. They looked at each other and had a silent conversation. George nodded and gave me a hug.
"Jasper got the prettiest girl in the school as his date," he said and pulled away. I smiled gratefully at him and he walked towards the party. Fred turned to me and I looked at him.
"What's the matter?" He asked, putting his hands on my arms. I shivered as he led me away from all the noise.
"I look horrible," I said quietly, half believing what I just said.
