Sitting outside next to the lake, I closed my eyes and laid my head back. It was Saturday, and I was spending some relaxing time alone.

"I never got your name," a deep voice spoke. I opened my eyes and the Drumstrang boy from the welcoming ceremony was looking down at me.

I sat up and patted the area next to me. He accepted the invitation and sat down. "I never got yours," I replied and he smiled.

"Jasper Mikscova," he said, his Bulgarian accent faltering.

I eyed him suspiciously. "Y/n Y/l/n," I said and held out my hand. He shook it and I laid back down.

"So, what's with the accent?" I asked and he turned his head to me, a slight red coming to his cheeks.

"Well um," he cleared his throat, "Im not exactly bulgarian."

"Really?" I said.

"Yeah, my parents are both english but we lived in Bulgaria so I ended up getting a Drumstrang letter instead a Hogwarts one," he said and I raised my eyebrows.

"Well, now you can drop the accent around me," I said and he smiled at me again. I smiled back and he laid down on the grass.

"Thanks, for uh, not making fun of me," he said.

"Oh I'm just being polite," I said. "Once we've gotten to know each other better, you're gonna have all the fun made out of you then."

The cheering in the common room was endless. Harry was on the twins shoulders and he was going to open the golden egg. A screeching noise filled the room and I covered my ears. It stopped and I looked up at the egg.

There was an awkward silence filling the room.

"So did anyone get the clue?" I said and laughter erupted in the room.

Ron came down the stairs and looked at the egg, then at harry. "What the bloody hell was that?"

"Harry opened the egg," ginny said and he huffed. Ron walked back up the stairs and harry looked after him was a sad look in his eyes. The crowd broke away and the twins and ginny came to sit beside me.

"So, yule ball," ginny said and nudged my shoulder.

"Well, yeah, but it was just announced, no ones gonna ask me yet," I said.

"I hope someone asks me," ginny mumbled.

"I'll break that person's nose," george said and fred nodded. "And I'll break his fingers."

"And I will punch the two of them in the stomach if they even try," I smiled and ginny laughed.

"Our stomachs still have bruises you know," fred said, whincing as he touched his stomach.

"Anyway, you guys need haircuts if you even want anyone to ask you, although they are kind of growing on me," I said and looked at their shoulder length hair.

"We're not about to cut it," george said.

"Worth the try," I mumbled and glared at the two boys in front of me.

It was late at night and I couldnt sleep. I was sitting on the couch in the common room and reading one of the books mom and dad had sent me. Footsteps came down the boys dorm and I looked up. Harry came down and stopped when he saw me.

"Oh no," he mumbled and I closed my book.

"What?" I said and he looked at the fire.

"Could you maybe go somewhere else?" He said and i looked at him.

"In the middle of the night?" I dead-panned. He looked at the ground and let out a sigh.

"Ok fine, stay here but just dont tell anyone about what's gonna happen."

He walked around the room, occasionally looking through the window. The fire started cackling and I looked at it. It was moving! My eyes widened and I sat down next to a freaked out harry. A familiar face appeared in the fire and I gasped.

"Sirius!" I whispered.

"Y/n! Hows my little beasty doing?" He smiled.

"I'm fine, how are you? Are you eating?" I asked worried, looking at his pale skin.

"I'm just fine, and theres a nice old woman who loves feeding the black dog that appears at her doorstep everyday," he said and I shook my head.

"Please take care of yourself," I told him and he nodded his head.

I got up and went back to the sofa while harry talked to Sirius. I took out a piece of parchment and wrote mum a letter, thanking her and dad for the book, and asking for a dress for the ball. I put it in an envelope and inside my book for safe keeping.

Walking to the owlrey, I wrapped my scarf tighter around my neck, preventing any of the crisp, cold air from my body. I climbed up the steps and looked at hedwig. I had already asked harry if I could let her take my letter and he said yes. I beckoned her closer and gave her a small treat I had in my pocket.

"He doesn't feed you does he?" I joked and she ruffled her feathers. I attached the letter onto her leg and told her to go to mum and dads. Shes gone loads of times so I wasnt worried about her getting lost, not that she ever has.

Going back down, I spotted hermione reading a book with harry and ron peering over her shoulders. I made my way over to them, but not before noticing victor krum looking at Hermione with what I think is a flirtatious smile in his opinion, and her looking back down at her book.

"Hey guys," I said and sat down on one of the rocks next to them.

"Y/n, how do you ask a girl on a date?" Ron asked and I laughed.

"Well why don't you ask hermione?" I said and she spoke.

"He did, and I told him, but i guess it wasn't valid enough," she said, glaring at ron.

"What did you say?" I wondered and those time harry spoke.

"That we should just be ourselves and ask her when we feel like the time is right," he said in a bored tone and I smiled.

"Well that pretty much sums it up," i laughed and ron huffed.

"That's the worst bit of advice you've ever given y/n."

I flicked his arm and said, "Well then, you can go and read a book that was specially written for people who have trouble talking to girls," I coughed you and hermione laughed. I cracked a smile and I could see the smile coming onto harry and Ron's faces too.
