I stuffed a sausage in my mouth as the mail came in. Owls flew overhead and a letter landed on my lap.

Mum had written to me. I swallowed and opened the letter.

My eyes skimmed through it and tears welled up in my eyes.

"No, no, no, no, no," I mumbled as I ran towards the Professors table.

I stopped in front of Professor Dumbledore as the tears fell from my eyes.

He looked up at me and immediately stood up. Professor McGonagall at his side, he asked me to follow him into the back room.

"Whats wrong my dear?" He asked.

I handed him the note, not trusting myself to talk. They both read it and gasped.

"Ill arrange for you to head home," Professor Dumbledore mumbled.

Before he could leave, the door opened and Professor Umbridge walked in. "What seems to be the problem?"

Professor Dumbledore ignored her and walked out of the room.

"Nothing too serious, you needn't concern yourself with," Professor McGonagall told her and pulled me close.

I wiped the tears from my face and walked out of the room.

I made my way to Professor Dumbledore's office and opened the door. He stood in front of his fireplace and motioned me forward.

He took a pot of powder and gave it to me. I took out a handful and stepped into the fireplace.

"Be careful now, and I shall send someone to pick you up in a weeks time."

"Thanks professor, and please tell fred and George what happened, I wasn't able to," I said to him and floo powder-ed my way home.

I ran over to where mum was pacing and gave her a hug, "How is he?"

She pulled away and I looked at her. Her eyes were red and puffy, her hair out of place and she was in her night robe.

"He's still unconscious," she whimpered.

I sat her down on one of the chairs and stared at his door.

"Dad's going to be okay mum, he always is," I told her, making sure the tears don't come out of my eyes. "Now im going to go get us some coffee, okay?"

She nodded.

I got up and rubbed my hands across my jeans. As I was waiting for the machine to pour the coffee, the doctor came out of dad's room. Forgetting the coffee, I swiftly got to mums side.

"Mrs. Y/l/n?" He said.

Mum nodded and he continued. "Well, your husband sure has got some will. His arm is fractured, couple broken ribs and a slight concussion, but other than that, he's all good."

We both took a sigh of relief and smiled weakly at the doctor.

"Can we see him, uh, Doctor Richards?" I asked, reading his name tag.

"Go ahead, but he is still unconscious. I think he'll be up in about an hour," he told us and stepped aside.

Mum and I opened the door and looked at dad. He lay on the hospital bed, small scars on his face and arms, one of them wrapped in a cast. We sat next to him on the chairs and relaxed.

He is ok. He is alright.

"So how is school?" Mum asked, turning to me.

"Its going horribly, there's this new teacher, from the ministry and she has literally ruined my life," I said and looked at mum.

I laughed at her expression. "That was, well, that was something. What did she do? We only got an owl saying that you went unconscious. No one told us why. We were worried sick."

I chuckled darkly. "She's done way more than you could ever imagine."

She frowned. "Did she do something bad? Are you alright?"

I decided not to tell her too much about it now, the timing was horrible.

"I'm fine, and I have some news," I said and smiled.

"All good I hope," she said.

"Fred and I are together," I said.

Mum didn't say anything for a solid minute and I got worried. "Mum?"

She got out of her trance and squealed. I looked at her bewildered.

"Your dad owes me 10 pounds!" she said and gave me a hug.

I returned it and shook my head. "I cant believe you guys bet on us!"

"At least I bet right," she said and smiled.

"You bet what right?" I heard a raspy voice ask.

The both of us whipped our heads to the bed and saw dad with a weak smile on his face.

"Dad!" I exclaimed and gave him a hug. He winced and I pulled back. "Sorry."

"That's alright kiddo, what are you doing here?"

"I couldn't just leave you, thank god you're okay," I said and stepped back.

Mum took my spot and gave dad a light hug and kissed him. "Almost gave me a heart attack there babe."

"Sorry," he mumbled and kissed her again. I smiled.

"I'm going to go and get that coffee," I said and left the room.

I walked over to the cafeteria and asked for three coffee's and a muffin. I paid the girl behind the counter and made my way back to dad's room.

Dr. Richards stopped me on the way. "How's your father dear?"

"He's up now, but if you want we can leave the room so you could do some check-ups," I said.

He smiled. "That's alright, i'll come back in an hour, but make sure your mother goes home, she's been here since morning."

"I will, thank you for everything," I told him.

"Of course, it is my job after all," he smiled and walked into another room.

I opened the door to dad's room and put the tray down. He eagerly took the muffin and stuffed it in his mouth.

"I see your eating habits haven't been damaged," I laughed.

"Thank the lord," he said and mum chuckled.

"Mum, go home please, ill stay," I said and took a sip of my coffee.

"No way, im staying," she said.

"Mum, you need to go, at least shower and change," I said and she sighed.

'Ill be back in a couple hours," she said and kissed dad's forehead.

She left and he turned to me, wiggling his eyebrows. "So I heard that you and fred are now an item."

"Gosh dad, don't say it like that, sounds gross," I cringed and he laughed.

"Since when?"

"Couple weeks," I told him.

"Ah, well, if he does anything, im going to shove a stick up his ass."

"Dad!"
