The next morning, after a night of partying and somehow convincing Michael to take a sip from the chalace of blood disguised as a rather dope wine bottle, I awoke to Laddie tugging at my shoulder. His light brown hair fell softly in front of his eyes, a boyish smile dressing his lips.

I watched in confusion as he raised a finger to his lips, " Shhh. Vina. We have to be quiet..." He whispered, " I wanna go get some Ice cream, but I can't go by myself. And Star is suuuupper tired."

My eyes squinted from both exhaustion and an evident hangover, " What If I'm suuuuper tired?" I mumbled sarcasticly, grabbing a feather stuffed pillow and holding it over my face. Laddie wasn't amused.

" Come on! I heard they have salted caramel ice cream coming in---"

Before the words could have left his mouth I had taken my blanket and tossed it over Laddie's head, pulling on a pair of jeans and smirking as I caught sight of Marko's jacket laying on the couch...I didnt feel like changing my crop top so I ended up just slipping the patchwork over my body.
It was still extremely early so he wouldn't be up for many, many, many hours, so it's not like he'd find out until later tonight. I chuckled to myself and softly grabbed Laddie's hand, " You owe me."

He shrugged, " I have a lifetime to pay you back."

I glanced down at him, " You're right, but no way in hell are you gonna turn before the age of 18. If you do I'm gonna toss you off the cliff."

I think that's pretty fair.

The two of us laughed and exited the cave, ours hands firmly clasped in one anothers as we made our way towards the boardwalk. Sunglasses covering both of our eyes. In all honestly we probably looked a tad bit intimidating. Especially since I was wearing my 'crazy' boyfriends signature jacket. It was so heavy...

I glanced down at Laddie and tilted my head, " Why do you want ice cream this early anyways?" I asked, genuinely curious. Normally Laddie enjoyed sleep the most. I mean, what kid didn't.

He pressed his lips together and shrugged, " I dunno. Ice cream just sounded good." Once again the small child made a pretty good point. I'm an adult with adult money. Why the hell couldn't I buy me and a little kid that that hangs around with a bunch of vampires an ice cream?

By the time we made it to the parlor, I'd bet it was around noon ish. Of course even after being a halfie I was still exhausted from walking the last few miles down the fucking beach.

I glanced at Laddie, " Pick your poison." I said, gesturing to the many-many flavors in the display case. He, like any child, practically pressed his face to the glass to get a look, his eyes scanning each one like precious jewels.

Finally he smiled, " That one."

His finger was stuck in the direction of a very okay flavor of strawberry. I mean...to each their own. I smiled up at the lady at the register and hummed so softly, " Two ice cream cones. One salted caramel and another strawberry."
