By the time Laddie and I had made it home, Star was awake and sitting on a couch, doodling on some old paper she had found. I smiled and sat next to her, " Morning Star-shine. The earth says hello!" I cheered, giving her a small peck on the cheek.
She laughed and wipped the love away as if gross, before looking a a rather happy Laddie.
" Where'd y'all go?" She questioned.
I shrugged, " Ice cream parlor."
Star gasped, holding a hand over her heart, " Without me?! Boo, you whore!" She whined, turning her gaze back to her drawing, " Do you think when I'm a full vamp Ima look like this---"
She flipped the drawing around and revealed what she'd been using the morning to work on. To be honest it was a pretty good drawing. It was Star but with sharper-high cheekbones and scolding yellow eyes, two demon like fangs bearing her teeth like diamonds. No joke, she was still extreamly hot.
I gave a small grin, " Dude thats dope as fuck!"
She giggled, " Thanks! I've been thinking about my turning since I first drank from the bottle. Besides, I drew most of my references from David."
I nodded, glancing at Laddie who had long since passed out. Thank god. I didn't need him thinking about Ollie anymore than a snail would. I turned back to Star.
" I have no clue what I'm gonna look lile. I mean? Double vamp and werewolf combo? I've only ever seen a werewolf once and that was when I got all nommed on in my backyard."
The gypsy esk girl nodded, " That's fair. But I'm sure you're gonna look great."
That's reassuring.
I shrugged, " I mean it's whatever. I just hope I don't end up looking like a Chihuahua with fangs."
Both Star and I snorted at the image.
She sighed and wiped a tear from her eyes, " Wow. You're right that would be pretty bad. But still, can't be any worse than David."
I playfully slapped her arm, " Don't say that!"
" What it's true! Out of all the boys he looks the scariest!"
Fair. Fair is fair.
" David would kill you if he heard you say that." I said, leaning on my arm.
Star shrugged, " All is fair in the game of family. It's like calling your brother stupid, it doesn't count."
Again. Fair point.
" So how did the ice cream thing go?" She asked, setting her beatiful drawing to the side, " Was Laddie good?"
I pressed my lips together, " Yeah about that..."
Star looked defeated, " Oh no what did he do?"
I raised my hands, " No, no! You got it wrong. For the most part Laddie was an angel. It's just...remember that guy Marko wanted to kill for talking to me? My old friend from school?"
" Oliver?"
" Yes! Oliver. Well you see, I kinda saw him while we were out for ice cream and he asked If I wanted to get dinner with him later. I told Laddie I wouldn't go but...I mean I kinda want to. I haven't really spoken to him since I've been back and...I miss him a little."
Star stared at me in shock.
" Marko will kill him if he finds out."
I groaned, " I know!"
" So why would you risk that?"
I threw my hands in the air, " Because he's my friend!" I retaliated.
" Not offense Davina, but I doubt buddy wants to take you to dinner because you're friends."
She was probably right. I know she is. I sighed and glanced at her, " Fine. Fine you're right. I wont go."
Star gave me a pointed look, " Promise?"" Promise."
" Hope to die?"
" Hope to die.
" Stick a needle in your eye?"
" Maybe not that part."
