The drive was just like every other one the boys had gone on. Screams, hoots, and hollers filled the air like blood in their veins, and David could only smirk as he played Star's little game. Marko revved his engine and chased Paul with a cocky smirk as he let his tires kick up sand and flung it towards Michael who was having trouble keeping up. The lights from the boardwalk slowly disappeared as they raced down the beach, eager to get to Hudson's bluff.
Dwayne used one hand to drive and the other to reach back and mess with Laddie, not even the slightest bit concerned about crashing. Davina admired Dwayne for that, he was always very confident in his observation skills, but his hearing was timesed ten. Star had a smile on her ruby lips as she looked up at the sky, seeing thousands of her namesake glittering throughout the night.
Of course, Paul and Marko goofed around as normal, but David remained goal-oriented. Although he was focused, something obviously plagued his mind, or it was clear to Davina at least. He kept outstretching his fingers as if his muscles were strained and then would glance back at Michael.
Paul whistled and nodded up ahead, hinting for Dwayne to cast up some fog, to which the native man happily obliged. As the thick smoke piled up, it became hard for any normal person to see, even Divina was having her issues despite being a halfie.
Star giggled and popped her neck, Davina was shocked she could hear it over the roar of the bikes. David let Michael catch up and began taunting him like clockwork, his steel gaze challenging the young and oblivious man.Marko smirked and chuckled, the low rumble rolling back into Davina's chest as he pulled off to the side, letting David handle the fun job.
Before the game could really start, Michael caught sight of the cliff.
Star let out a painfully fake scream and watched her mate slide across the ground and stopping at the edge, all thanks to a little vamping on David's part.
Davina would have to ask them about these little gifts they had later.
The girl watched as Michael stood up from the bike and search for David. As soon as his eyes caught the bleach blonde, a roar ripped through his chest as he stomped towards him.
Davina watched in shock as Michael delivered a nasty right hook, one that would knock any normal man on his ass. But not David. No sir.
As Davina watched David take the hit, she found a pain surge in her chest. The kinda pain that only came from watching someone you care about die. She knew David was okay, but that didn't ease the pain at all.
She glanced at Marko who seemed to understand what she was feeling, simply wrapping his arms around her and pulling her in front of him.
" ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY! YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN ME KILLED!" Michael shouted, shaking sand from his hair.
David was just as calm as usual, his eyes burning through Michaels fake facade.
" But you didn't. Did you?"
Michael shoved David again, " Is this a fucking joke to you!?!"
Paul had to fight back a laugh as he watched the scene before him.
" I mean. For us, life is a game." He mind linked the rest of the group.
Marko laughed.
Dwayne licked his lips and crossed his arms.
Before Michael and David could get into any more, Star rushed to Michael's aid. " Michael, Michael it's fine." She cooed, her hand caressing her mate.
Like water on fire, the rage that kindled in Michaels chest began to subside.
And as he calmed down, so did Davina.
The girl took a deep breath and rubbed her eyes.
Marko grinned and ran his fingers through his girls hair, long and strawberry blonde.
" Awwww, is my princess tired?" He hummed, laying his shoulder in the crook of the girls neck.
Davina nodded.
David glanced at Davina and Marko and smiled. They were perfect for each other.
The blonde sighed, " My bad Michael." He apologized, " No hard feelings?"
Michael glanced at Star and looked for confirmation. She nodded.
" Yeah...no hard feelings."
Paul smirked and let out another hoot, " Well good, cause I'm hungry as FUCK!"
Davina found herself wondering what kind of hungry he was.
Marko took a deep breath and nuzzled deeper into the girls neck, " He's not human hungry...don't worry babe." He whispered, standing up as David revved his engine. Marko grabbed Davina's hand delicately and lead her to the seat behind him once again.
" Chinese food my dear?" He asked.
Davina nodded, " No rice."
Marko laughed, " What is with you and rice?" He asked, pulling out behind the rest of the gang.
The girl shrugged, " I have no clue, I just really hate rice for some reason. I think it's the texture."
From over the roar of the engines, Paul shouted, " Rice has texture!?!"
Dwayne nodded, " It is pretty weird!"
David rolled his eyes, " STOP TALKING ABOUT RICE!"
Star crossed her arms, " I like rice."
" NO MORE RICE!"
