He waved and smiled at her.
The girl climbed out of bed, reached her window, frowned at him, and raised her eyebrows.
Oh shit, now she'll think I'm a creep.
He backed away from the window and went back to bed.
Who is that girl?
Everly would know.
He got out of bed and made his way towards Everly's room.
"Knock knock." He opened the door without knocking and Everly looked at him.
"Knock before you enter my room, Elijah."
"I will once you give me an answer to a question." She sat up straight and raised her eyebrows.
"Yes?"
"Who lives next door? I mean... do you know our neighbors?" He asked, scratching the back of his neck.
"Yes I actually do and I know that you wouldn't be asking about them if it wasn't for their lovely daughter who just came back yesterday."
"Came back? What do you mean?"
"She went to live with her grandparents a month ago, She's quite of a loner if you ask me. Never goes out, stays in her room all day long, even at school you couldn't find her. Always has her nose buried in a book."
Elijah raised his eyebrows.
"How do you know that much about her?" He demanded.
"I'm her friend, Well. Kind of."
"I didn't know that."
"Sure you didn't. We have Biology and History together."
"She's sixteen?"
"Yep, And her name's Destiny. Destiny Rose Wilson."
He smiled.
Destiny.
What a unique yet beautiful name.
"Thank you. If I'm ever rude to you again just punch me hard."
"I'd love that." Everly smiled.
"Good night."
"Nighty night."
He came back to his room and sat down on his bed.
"Nice girl, nice name. But I'm not getting in a relationship ever again." He muttered.
But did he meant that?
*****************************
Monday morning came bright and sunny.
It was seven-thirty and Elijah was ready to leave for school.
"Evie! Are you coming or should I just leave without you?" He yelled for the third time.
"I'm coming!" She yelled back.
"Do not shout, My head freaking hurts." Ansel glared at him and sat down on the couch.
"Are you going to work?" Elijah asked.
"Nope. I have been working my ass off for the last two weeks. I'm the boss, I can take a break from work."
"Seriously Ansel, You have to stop cursing. We have a baby in our house." Amanda appeared from the kitchen holding a glass of orange juice.
"Here." She handed the glass to Elijah and sat down beside her husband.
