Chapter Eight

"Please don't tell me you're going on a date with the enemy", my mum said when I told her I was going out with Braylon.

After destroying August and my mate for eating my snacks, yesterday. We agreed upon somethings. Well Riley and August are settled because they both were already crushing on each other pretty bad.

Riley's still going to school to become a doctor. That girl never seizes to amaze me who would want to go back to school after finding out you're going to be a future Luna and they keep making out, they're honestly worse than Nessa and Trey.

Trey and I still haven't talked yet, either I'm avoiding him or he's avoiding me but it seems like we're both avoiding each other. Lottie and Charlie keep texting me. Lottie to ask me about Trey and Charlie asking why I ran out on him.

I told Lottie to just drop it and told Charlie I had a family emergency. It wasn't a total lie. But I'd just got him back and here we are growing distant again.

Braylon and I talked for the first time, without me choking, running away or in a heated moment between my brother and best friend. He's super understanding and all the while honey wanted to jump his bones. Freaking mate pull.

He's nice enough plus he's a foodie so score though I fear we'll both end up eating each other. That boy is wild. We had dinner yesterday with the pack. It was chicken and I never thought I'd say this but I felt sorry for the chicken. He asked me out later like a normal couple would and I agreed to go for brunch with him.

"Mum I told you it is just a get to know you're mate dinner, nothing special", I said. "Well then make sure he doesn't eat you I've never seen someone with an appetite that matches yours and it scares me and his the Alpha of the Black Hurricane Pack, Lilac why won't you just reject him already. He's dangerous", she said.

"We're mates for a reason mum, I can't just reject him without reason. The rival is acient and August said his here to settle things anyway, I have too at least try", I said laughing at her, she's not wrong. He puts the wolf in wolfing down food.

"Ready", Braylon said by my bedroom door. Mum took it as the perfect moment to get up and go not without glaring at Braylon and saying "Try anything and I'll make sure you never have pups you hear me mister" while poking his chest and August had to step in and hurl her away but she sure as hell kept the threats coming.

"I'm ready", I said. I chose a simple yellow sundress with red boots, holding my brown hair in a ponytail with red lipstick when it comes to makeup I can put Kylie Jenner to shame but I kept it simple.

"I will kill you, you hear me don't even think of hurting my baby", mum shouted from wherever she is in the house. "Most mums would be asking for pups, you're mums something else", Braylon said. "You have no idea", I told him.

"Shall we", he said gesturing for as to leave. "We shall'st", I said walking past him to leave the house with my hand in the air like troops matching to battle. Braylon just chuckled and followed behind me. "Bye mum, bye auggie", I yelled. "Use your claws sweetheart", mum yelled back. "Mum!", I heard August whine. We both laughed and got out the house.

The moment we got outside, I found riley just arriving. "Riley or should I say Luna Riley", I said with a mock cortesy. "Lilac or should I say Luna Lilac", she said doing the same. "You shall not", I said sternly. "Why not", both she and Braylon said at the same time and I held back an eye roll.

"August's in their reprimanding mum, she'll be happy to see you", I told her stepping away from the door. "Oh thanks have fun on your date", Riley said entering the house. "It's just dinner", I yelled. "Right", she yelled back from inside where she couldn't face my wrath.

After arguing on whose car we should take, Braylon won seeing as he knew where we were going. I looked at the little restaurant he'd brought us to. "Nai Nai's?", I questioned, my mind went to Charlie immediately, he works here sometime and I wouldn't really want to face him.

It's not like I like him in that way or anything. Urgh get you're mind right Lilac you found your mate who you know nothing about excpt the fact that our pack are rivals and....

"Something wrong?" Braylon asked no doubt noticing my inner conflict. "No I was just in the mode for italain is all", I tried to lie hoping he couldn't tell. "Don't ever try to lie to me again, you got it", he said sternly and all I could choke out was a nod. I nod! like an idiot, I just backed away from the fight. I'm Lilac Silverstorm for goddess sake, I don't have a single submissive bone in my body then why do I just follow what he tells me, so what he yelled big whoop, the old Lilac would have yelled back.

I decided to brush it off and get to know my mate better that's why we are here in the first place. "It's not like your boyfriend works here right, you don't have a boyfriend do you", Braylon said through gritted teeth at the thought of his female with another male. Big whoop if I had a boyfriend or not, he doesn't own me.

"No I don't have a boyfriend", I say. "Have you ever had one", he questions and I don't even fight the eye roll. "Oh what, let me guess if so you're going to kill them", I said. "Let's just go eat", he said getting out of the car. We were already clashing, for some reason I just have the urge to be snarky towards him, Goddess help us. At least we agree on one thing, food is the mother of all things holy.

We got to the restaurant and seeing as luck and I are best friends... not, Charlie was the waiter for our table.

"Hi welcome to Nai Nai's I'm Charlie I'll be... Lilac", he said before looking up from his phoe and noticing it's me. "Hi charlie", I say sweetly only to hear a low growl from the other side of the table. "You didn't tell me you were coming over, who's he", Charlie says as if noticing Braylon was there all along as well.

"Uhm Braylon, This is Charlie one of my best friend's, Charlie this is Braylon my...", I start only to be cut off by Braylon saying, "Her boyfriend". "Boy who is a friend", I say chuckiling nervously. "Pretty sure I'm so much more than that babe", Braylon said. "I'll get your food", Charlie said and he just left. We didn't even get to order!

"Why the fuck did you do that for", I whispher yell to Braylon. "So he is your boyfriend", he says while he clenches and unclenches his jaw. It's the sexys thing, I just want to...Garrh stupid mate pull. "He's just a friend", I say. "Who wants to be something more and it looks like your leaving your options open have you forgotten that you mine", Braylon said.

"I don't belong to you dick ward I'm not property, we might be mates but I chose who I love", fuck did I just say that. "So you love that waiter boy, of all mates goddess blessed me with a slut", Braylon said.

"Fuck you Braylon", I said and threw all the complimentary breadstick I'd been munching on at him, shame they didn't deserve that fate, neither do I. I just stormed off running, again.

Why do things always go so wrong in my life...
