18* What If

"Spill. You need to talk to us Sara!"

All the girls sat in my room as I tried to ignore the questions thrown at me.

"There is no need for you to keep pestering me about it."

"It's obviously Jonathan." Taylor murmured in a duh tone.

I groaned.  "If I tell you, will you promise to listen to everything I have to say?"

They all nodded eagerly.  Keithlin was doing amazing as she acted like she didn't know. Hollywood should consider hiring her.

I huffed.  "Yes, I like Jonathan."

The squeals could be heard all around America, no doubt about it.

"Shush! You promised!"

"I knew it!" Samantha jumped in place. "Oh, you're both so cute when you hang out together."

"I also knew it." Keithlin winked very discreetly. Smooth.

"It was quite obvious.  Do you think he knows?" Taylor squinted her eyes.

"Girls, stop!" I yelled.

"Probably not.  Jonathan can be quite oblivious regarding social standards. You should tell him!" Samantha continued jumping in place.

"I agree!" Taylor smirked.

I stood up, "Stop.  You need to know something!" The three of them looked at me with confusion, but finally offered silence.  I continued, "Jonathan likes Nicole, one of Carla's friends.  They've actually been texting recently—" They all gasped, "And I've seen them making out more than once." They all let even louder gasps.

"What the heck." Samantha mumbled.

"Treason!" Keithlin screeched.

"How could he- I'm- I can't process this." Taylor barely spoke out, holding her temples with wide eyes.

I shrugged. "Which is why I'm not really comfortable about everything."

Sami shook her head, "But did you tell him about-"

I nodded. "Of course I warned him about her. He's not blind either. The girl used to torment him just a few months ago!"

They all exchanged looks.

"Well, this freaking sucks." Samantha leaned back on my bed, defeated. "I've been shipping you guys for such a long time! How dare he ruin my ship!"

I shrugged. "It is what it is."

We stayed quiet. I knew all of them were debating a way for making me be triumphant, but I wasn't about to make a move on a man who I knew wasn't into me.

It's called dignity.

"Keithlin, nothing has happened with Jake?" I ask with hesitation, trying to fill the silence that had followed.

She shook her head, taking a bite from her chocolate bar. "Nop. My parents somehow always change the conversation if I mention it. I need to know what happened between them. It's driving me crazy!"

Taylor squinted her eyes. "But... what about Jake?"

Kaithlin took a deep breath. "He's avoiding me. Although, I saw his car parked next to my house last week..."

We all groaned, annoyed. Definitely visiting Rachel.

I shook my head, disappointed. "What do you think?"
