Chapter 11: Tragic Dinner & Picnic
Sara's pov
I woke up to the giggles of the girls beside me. We were still in Keithlin's house on the sleep over. Today was my dinner with Jonathan and Keithlin's picnic with both their parents. So technically today Sami and Taylor go home and the two of us have to get ready to see our special someone (not that they know I like Jonathan).
They kept giggling, so I mumbled "Shh... I'm trying to sleep..."
Taylor snickered. "You know what Sara?"
I mumbled "Didn't you hear me? I'm sleeping."
Keithlin answered. "Jonathan called asking for you. It's already twelve o'clock."
I sat up straight on the sleeping bag besides Keithlin'a bed. "What?!"
They giggled amused. I searched for my phone. And what did you know? It was 11:40 am.
I glared at the girls. "So you say it's almost 12? And that Jonathan called me?"
They all nodded. I rolled my eyes and checked the missed calls. One was from mom and the other was form Jonathan. Damn, they weren't lying.
"Oh." I say staring at the screen with a blank face.
They all burst laughing.
Keithlin laughed and told me "Girl, I answered both. Your mom said that figures you were asleep and told me to remind you to be home at six. Jonathan, on the other hand, seemed surprised you were still sleeping. He gave me the route to his house. Oh, and Jonathan asked what would you like to eat. I said anything was good."
I glared at Keithlin. "You did WHAT?! HOW COULD YOU!?!?!"
The girls shrunk back but then giggled. They just didn't understand the situation they just have put me in. Or maybe they do but don't really care! OR they do it to have revenge on me for something!
"We didn't want to bother him. Funny how he is now your friend but hasn't noticed how you are a picky, very picky, eater." Taylor stated amused.
I rolled my eyes. "That's just great. I get a chance to eat well and it was thrown down the drain. Why does food hate me?"
Sami took my hand. "Sara, food doesn't hate you. You hate food."
"Because it doesn't love me back! That's why!" I said like if it was true.
Taylor tsked. "Girl, you know the rule. If you don't like it is because you've never tried it."
I pouted. "I don't wanna eat random food..."
They all laughed at me. They really are weird. They don't realize the situation I'm in right now! I'm going to do my first impression on Jonathan's parents! And you know what it will be like? Me not liking their food! Ugh, I knew one day being a picky eater will be my downfall.
Samantha chuckled. "So what are you going to do?"
I shrugged. "Tell them I already ate?"
They all shook their heads.
"Nop. Jonathan invited you to dinner. D. I. N. N. E. R. That means he invited you to eat." Keithlin said like if it wasn't already obvious.
I rolled my eyes. "So what do you suggest I do?"
They all gave me blank looks, making me groan annoyed.
I started to curse under my breath, which made the girls chuckle. I rolled my eyes and slumped back on the floor. This is going to be a long day. And I suspect I won't like a thing.
