Chapter 5: Introduction

Sara's pov

I woke up next morning with an ache on my legs. Yesterday's karate class was a total workout. Falling asleep at 12 am didn't help either. To top it all off, I had set the clock at 6 am when I always woke up at seven am. *yawn* Yup. A series of horrible decisions.

You must understand my confusion when I stated at my alarm saying it was 6 am. It took me a while for me to remember my arrangement with Jonathan.  That was all it took for me to sprint out of bed.

I dressed as quickly as possible with the new found inspiration of seeing my crush.

I head downstairs and startled my mother that had just woken up and was serving herself some coffee. She stared at me like if I was a ghost.

I'm white mom, but don't exaggerate.

"Sara, what are you doing up? It's 6:50 am." Mom looked at the clock to make sure she wasn't hallucinating.

I smiled. "I wanted to start heading to school earlier." Such an amazing lie mixed with the truth.

Mom stared at me for a while until she exclaimed. "It's a miracle!" She held her hands to the ceiling.

"Mom!" I chuckled while rolling my eyes and picking a few cookies as breakfast; healthy eating for sure.

I started the walk to the bus stop. When I spotted the bus stop I saw his figure there, looking at his shoes and shuffling a bit. I chuckled. He looked cute.

"Good morning Jonathan." I said skipping into sight.

Jonathan jumped a little, startled. "Hi. Ready?"

I nodded as we started to walk to school. It was a bit awkward at first until we started to make conversation.

"So... You studied for today's test?" I asked him playing with my hands.

He nodded. "Yeah. History."

We kept walking.

"Want a cookie?" I said offering one. I had almost eaten them all.

He shook his head. "No, thank you."

I hummed to myself and ate my last cookie.

Ok. So I lied. It's really awkward. Even with the tiny conversations.

"Uh, so I was wondering, where did you want me to tutor you?" He said looking at me.

I thought. "I don't know. What do you have in mind?"

He smiled. "I was thinking at the tree. It's peaceful and we both have the same free period."

I nodded. "Ok."

In no time (less than four minutes) we got the sight of the school. We walked together to a bench in front of it. It was located near the main door.

As if on queue, a car pulled up at the parking lot. The dude got out. It was Derek. What a surprise, not.

He smirked when he noticed Jonathan, but then he saw me. I sat right next to Jonathan with a sweet smile aimed at Derek. He glared at me and didn't dare approachus. He walked inside without disturbing us at all. Well look at that! I still intimidate him! Oh joy!

"It worked." Said Jonathan from beside me shocked.

I smiled relieved. "It did."

He chuckled. I like his chuckle. It made me happy. It made me feel that I succeeded my mission.
