I woke up on Christmas Eve morning, feeling like a little girl again. It was the day of the Christmas party and the day I gave Phineas my Christmas present. I was crazy nervous and excited. I pulled it out of the drawer I'd been hiding it in. It wasn't anything amazing. It was just a jacket. A jacket that I had spent hours embroidering his name onto the pocket on the right. And 'Carpe Diam!' on the right just under the collar. It was kind of cheesy. But I loved it.
The truth is. I had agonised over what to get him. I hoped this was enough. I wrapped it up and glanced at the clock.
" Shoot. I'm gonna be late. How long have I been sitting here!?" I yelled.
" About two hours. What are you doing!?" Tracy yelled back from the bathroom. My cheeks flushed. Two hours just staring at Phineas's present. I jumped up and pulled on my Christmas sweater. My mom had given it to me a while ago. It had a pink platypus in a Santa hat with Christmas lights. Everywhere. It was amazing. Wonder where she could have possibly gotten the idea. Anyway. Tracy and I rushed through getting ready, last minute preparations and barely made it out the door in time.
" Are you sure your mom said I could come?" Tracy asked worriedly as we drove towards the Flynn-Fletchers home.
" Yes if course! I can invite anyone I want!" I said not taking my eyes off the road. Tracy sighed still sounding unsure.
" I just don't want to intrude." She sighed. I laughed.
" My mom adores you. Phineas's family will too. And plus Buford and all of our friends are gonna be there!" I said, risking a glance at her. She smiled.
" Alright I'm convinced." She giggled. I grinned and put my full attention back on getting home safely. Twenty minutes later we pulled onto the already packed street. Gritting my teeth against the cold winter wind that blew against my face we walked up to the door. I knocked loudly. My mom opened the door with a flourish
"Isa! Tracy!" She yelled embracing us both tightly and dragging us into the house.
" Merry Christmas mamma!" I replied laughing. we entered the kitchen. We were the last to arrive. I set our gifts down by the beutiful tree. And went to greet everyone. Tracy was immediately by Buford's side. He laughed and pulled her into a hug, kissing the top of her head. I grinned, glad they were so happy. I turned around and was tackled by a very excited Candace.
" Isabella hi! I have to ask you something!" She practically screamed. I grinned.
" Hey Candace! What's up?" I replied.
She took a deep breath" Will you be one of my brides maids army wedding please!" She blurted. My smile grew wider. I three my arms around her
" Yes yes yes! I am so flattered thank you thank you!" I yelled. She giggled, did a happy dance and then ran back to Jeremy's side. I stood grinning like an idiot.
" What has you looking so happy?" A voice said behind me. Two arms wrapped gently around my waist.
" Hey Phin! Candace just asked me to be a bridesmaid!" I said happily looking up at my boyfriend. He smiled softly down at me.
" Hey Jeremy asked me to be a groomsman. Twins!" He said ruffling my hair. I squealed and wriggled out of his grip.
" Hy don't touch the hair!" I said mock offended. He laughed
" Oh like this?" He lunged at me, caught me in his arms again and began messing up my hair with a speed I didn't know existed.
" Hey! My hair gets frizzy when it's all messed up!" I said laughing, trying to push his hand away.
