You pushed them all away
and now you're in a state of solitude.
But did their presence make you feel
less lonely,
or were your days
any less blued?Maybe they were like the TV
that you turn on,
when the four light concrete rooks
close in
and try to swallow you up-
the only en prise dark pawn.And maybe now the room feels more populous,
the white noise works its magic,
and maybe you've filled up your ears,
but that hole in your heart still feels tragic.And maybe now
you feel less lonely
but you know you are alone,
even if you turn on the TV
and even if you don't.༺═─────•༻❉᯽❉༺•─────═༻
