"Scoot, if you don't get your flat ass down in here thirty seconds, I'm coming up and dragging it out of bed!"

I pulled my pillow over my face and groaned into it.

"Don't call me that, mom!" I called out, rolling out of bed. I continued rolling until I hit my closet door. Deciding I was too lazy to stand up, I crawled into the little room and grabbed the nearest t-shirt and pants and pulled them on. After brushing my teeth and making poses in the mirror, I ran down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"Scoot, how many times will I have to scream at you to wake up?" my mom scolded, hitting the back of my head.

"Mom, how many times will I have to tell you to stop calling me 'scoot'!" I scolded back, rubbing my head. Damn that lady could hit hard.

"But, Scott, that's what I've always called you!" she whined, flipping a pancake. I glared at the back of her head and went to sit down at the table, stuffing my mouth with the delicious pancakes. When I was able to speak, I could never pronounce my name correctly and my mom began using it as a nickname.

"I know, I know!" I said, glancing at the stove clock. "Shit, I've gotta go. I'm gonna be late again!"

"Scoot Park! You do not use that language in this household, young man! Get your ass to school!" my mom yelled and I quickly stood up and left the house, grabbing my bag. I jumped in the Cadillac. Just kidding, calm down Bruno Mars. I jumped in my yellow Lamborghini and started the car before quickly backing out of my driveway and speeding off. Parking my car in a parking space, I climbed out and began to walk lazily to the entrance of the school, greeting a few people on my way in. My eyes lit up when I saw my best friend in the whole wide world.

"Tia!" I yelled, arms wide and running towards him.

"Hey, man! Don't call me that and don't hug me."

Ah, typical Christian. I grinned, hugging him anyways. He smiled back and we walked to first period together, laughing about the party we bombed last weekend. That's right, me and my boy, Christian, are party animals.  We're pretty popular if you ask me, but not snobby popular. We got our own little group of four, basically two.

"Hey bro!" Beckett greeted, Bennett standing next to him on his phone. There's the other two in our little friend group; Beckett and Bennett, also known as the twins. I always thought twins had to look alike, but Beckett and Bennett are basically opposites. Beckett has fluffy brown hair, heterochromic green and brown eyes, and freckles, while Bennett sports curly blonde hair and dark blue eyes. Not to mention that Bennett is gay and Beckett is straight as a pole.

"Hey, how's it going?" I greeted and Christian just waved with a bright smile. The two boys joined Christian and I on our walk through the school halls to first period. I dragged Christian to the back where we usually sat and immediately began to complain about my morning. The twins were sitting in their usual seats with their other friends.

"...and then she told me to stop cussing by cussing at me!" I whined and Christian patted my back sympathetically. Suddenly, my eyes widened and I looked at Christian apologetically.

"Shit, I forgot again... I'm sorry, Christian. I have the worst memory ever!" I grumbled, totally forgetting his parents' divorce. His mom had left him and his dad when he was little. That's all he's told me about it so I've always thought it was a personal topic. I hated that I always forgot and then complained about my mom when really, I was lucky to even have one with me. Christian smiled and waved it off like always and I shot him a thankful smile. Sure, I knew he wasn't really okay with it, his smile said everything, but I still shrugged it off. If he wanted to pretend to be okay with it right in front of my face, then so be it. I just wish he would trust me enough to stop. He would tell me what he wanted, when he wanted.
