"I love him," I read, a smile on my lips. Christina giggled and looked at Elias who had just come home from work.
"Hey, whatchu guys up to?" he laughed, walking over and scooping Christina up in his arms. She giggled. I stood up and kissed him with a smile.
"I'm reading her the diary I wrote as a bet when I was, like, eighteen," I explained, holding up the slightly tattered book. Elias' eyes sparkled.
"I remember that! You never let me read anything other than the last entry!" he pouted. I rolled my eyes.
"Well, it is a little embarrassing," I admitted, scratching the back of my neck. He smirked, pulling me in for another kiss.
"Like I haven't seen your embarrassing things before," he chuckled. I smacked my husband.
"Not while Christina is here," I glared at him through gritted teeth. There was a knock at the door.
"Scott! Open up, bitch," Christian's voice came from the other side.
"Christian, dude. Tina is here. Shut the hell up with that language," I hissed, ushering him in. Theodore wasn't far behind. The two rushed over to my daughter and began gushing, stealing her away from Elias.
"Why did you let them in? We were having a moment," he whined.
"Haven't we been over this already? I'm getting deja-vu. Best friend trumps boyfriend."
"But I'm not your boyfriend," he smirked, intertwining our fingers and holding up my left hand. The silver wedding band made me smile.
"Best friend trumps husband," I corrected myself, fully aware that I was lying and would kick Christian out in a heartbeat if Elias wished me to.
It'd been years and years since I'd writing that diary. I still remember the bet. I remember the feelings and the entries. Of course, I had to skip a lot of the cussing and 18+ content (the fighting/kidnapping/harassment duh. what were you thinking?) for Christina, but it was still enjoyable to read.
Elias put an arm around my waist and kissed my forehead while we watched the other married couple have fun with our daughter. It was my favorite sight. And who knows? Maybe Elias will get a treat tonight for letting them crash our moment.
Obviously I'm talking about letting him read the diary. Not anything else...
That evening, I requested for Christian to take Tina for the night.
