Charcter introduction

Spoilers for season 1 of "the wilds."

Toni Shalifoe played basketball, and was the captain of her school team. She has a foster family, and is openly gay. She also severe anger issues, which are out of control. She has had a girlfriend in the past, who she accidentally hit when she was fighting off some drunken assholes. When said girlfriend broke up with her, she smashed her car.

Martha Blackburn is an animal lover, and is the best friend of Toni. She grounds Toni, and always brings her back to reality. She is Toni's "person."

Rachel Reid is a diver, and has an eating disorder. Her coach had told her she wasn't "skinny" enough to compete in the championship in Stanford, so she stopped eating properly.

Nora Reid is good with books, and is the twin sister of Rachel. She is quite protective of Rachel, as she always was there to bail her out of hospitals, and rehab.

Dot Campbell is a professional medic, who looked after her dad, who unfortunately died. She also had a fling, who she kissed. She wears cargo pants, which Fatin thinks screams, "gay!"

Shelby Goodkind is a pageant winner and good at singing. She comes from an extremely religious, Christian family. When she kissed Toni, she was reminded of her family, specifically her dad who told her that being homosexual is a 'sin.' So when Toni was doing a 'pornographic gesture' (episode 6 in the tv show), Shelby was extremely disgusted. Toni did not like that at all, and told Shelby to "fuck off." The rest of the girls were not pleased with Shelby's reaction. In episode 7, Toni attempts to find some tinder to start a fire, and sees Shelby alone. (Leah had suspected Shelby of being the mole, as she was always disappearing. However, Shelby was always disappearing to clean her dentures, which she reveals in the episode.) When in the forest, Shelby revealed to Toni, that she always felt like she had to be someone she wasn't. She always had to live up to her family's expectations, and keep them proud. Toni counters with her own backstory, stressing that her dad was a no show, and her mum was in and out of rehab. Toni also expresses to Shelby, that she doesn't need to live up to her family's expectations, as she is on an island. Upon hearing this, Shelby kisses Toni. After realising she was locking lips with another girl, she runs away, making Toni chase after her. (Shelby has locked lips with her best friend, Becca, whom committed suicide because of mental health issues.)

Leah Rilke is a loner who doesn't have a lot of friends, and had just got out of a relationship with a guy who was much older than her. She had illegal sex with the guy, by lying about her age.

Fatin Jadmani is a cello player, who also loves to party and have fun. She also comes from a rich, prominent family. Before being trapped on the island, Fatin had just find out that her dad was cheating on her mum, so she planned to expose his intentions, but that backfired.
