Chapter 17 - She so toxic!

Shelby was on quite an important mission. She needed to show Toni how much she meant to her. After everything that has happened on this fucking island, with Skylar, Andrew and Hunter.... she just needed Toni and herself to never overthink about what they're together because that will lead to something that will be too complicated to understand.

"Hey babe." Toni voiced. Shelby smiled at the pet name, taking Toni's hand in hers. Her smile grew wider when she saw how perfectly their hands fitted together. The blonde looked into the brunette's eyes, seeing the curiosity and comfort in them.

"I have something to show you." Shelby revealed a strip of clothing and motioned if she had permission to tie it over Toni's eyes. Toni simply laughed, nodding at Shelby's eagerness.
"If you wanted to blindfold me, you can just do it. I ain't going to stop you." Toni huskily let out, causing Shelby to become a little anxious. What if Toni doesn't like the surprise?

After securing the blindfold over Toni's eyes, Shelby leaned in, kissing the brunette passionately. She conveyed all her love for Toni by this single kiss. Toni moaned into Shelby's mouth, letting the blonde take the lead. Shelby inserted her tongue into Toni's mouth, letting it explore every inch of it. Just when Toni was going to kiss Shelby just as a passionately, Shelby pulled away, causing Toni to groan in frustration. "I thought your surprise was us having sex with me blindfolded! Why did you stop then?!!" Shelby chuckled at Toni's frustration, linking her hand with Toni's.
"I stopped because that's not apart of the surprise." Shelby ushered an annoyed Toni along.

Once Shelby reached the place, she carefully removed the blindfold from Toni's eyes. Toni blinked, trying to familiarise herself with her surroundings.

She let out a huge smile when she saw what Shelby had did for; in front of Toni, was a beautiful candlelit dinner with strawberries and chocolate mousse.

"Aww baby, this is so beautiful." Toni spoke in awe, turning towards Shelby to peck her lips. Shelby grinned when she saw Toni smile, the blonde was glad that she could finally have a nice, peaceful day with her girl.

The pair took their seats; a chair was seated at the ends of the circular table, so the couple were seated opposite each other. Toni grabbed a strawberry from the bowl and dipped it into the mousse, brining the food to her lips. She happily ate it, looking at Shelby who was doing the same. After Shelby ate her fourth strawberry, the blonde had somehow got the chocolate on her lips. Toni leaned forward, causing Shelby to mimic her actions. "You've got something there, hun." Toni gently spoke, wiping off the chocolate from Shelby's lips. Shelby's breath hitched when the brunette's thumb came in contact with her lips. While Toni was focused on helping Shelby, the blonde was focused on Toni. The way her eyebrows raised when she was concentrated; the way that she would crinkle up her nose; the way she would involuntarily lick her lips.

After Toni was done with wiping the chocolate off of Shelby, she leaned back but Shelby stopped her by grabbing the brunette, gently by the wrist. The touch shot fireworks in both Shelby and Toni. The tension between them was charged by desire and love. Shelby released Toni's wrist, making her way to the brunette's chair instead. Toni watched Shelby's every move, needing to feel her against her body.

"Do you trust me?" The blonde whispered into Toni's ear. Toni bit her lower lip, immediately nodding at Shelby's question. "Close your eyes, Toni." Toni instantly obeyed, allowing Shelby to drag her wherever she wanted.

Once the pair reached their destination, Shelby asked Toni to keep her eyes closed, while she got something. When the blonde returned, she told Toni to open her eyes. Toni's eyes immediately locked with the bed which was made out of wood and other components.

"Take your clothes off." Shelby commanded, causing shivers to run down Toni's spine but she played it off with a joke. "Yes, mommy." Toni let out, causing Shelby to laugh. "Please never call me that again." Shelby stated, taking off her clothes along with Toni.

The pair waited for awhile, wondering who would make the first move. The blonde rushed towards Toni, pushing her on the bed and immediately straddling her. Shelby's golden locks created a curtain between her and Toni, so she tied it up using her hair tie. The couple looked into each other's eyes, giggling softly. Just as Shelby was going to reconnect her lips with the brunette again, a screeching noise rang through their ears. Shelby immediately got off Toni shielding her ears, hoping to stop some of the noise from getting into her ears.

When she opened her eyes again, Toni was nowhere to be seen. Shelby immediately started to panic. She was about to scream Toni's name, but a napkin was placed on her nose and mouth to prevent her from doing so. She felt her head hurt and her vision began to darken. As she hit the floor, she whispered Toni's name, hoping that the brunette would come to her rescue.

30 minutes later;

"I don't know what fucking happened. I was just talking to Leah and then suddenly, my head hit the floor". Shelby heard Fatin speak, causing her to open her eyes slowly.

"Babe, you're awake. Thank god". Toni softly said, stroking Shelby's hair. Shelby groaned, siting up. She looked at the girls, confused to what happened.
"What happened?" Shelby questioned at Toni, rubbing her head in an attempt to stop a headache that was forming.
"We don't exactly know. Our memory is quite blurry. The only thing that we do know is that the boys and possibly, Skylar have disappeared." Toni answered.
"Guys, Leah was right. There's something fucked up that's happening on this island." Dot voiced. The girls looked at each other, agreeing with Dot. "You guys should get some sleep. I'll be on the lookout." Dot stated, grabbing some timber to keep the fire going.
"Dottie, I'll do it. You look extremely tired." Shelby expressed, putting her hand on Dot's shoulder, sympathetically. Dot nodded, handing the lighter over to Shelby. The brunette softly pecked Toni's cheek, smiling brightly at the brunette. "Goodnight, babe." Shelby whispered, causing Toni to chuckle softly.
"Goodnight, baby." Toni replied, softly kissing Shelby before making her way to the made - up bed.

A few minutes later;

Shelby had realised that she needed more timber for the fire, so she decided to get some more. When she looked out into the ocean, she witnessed as a small light flashing; it was a boat.

Shelby knew that making the fire bigger would get the attention of the boat. She felt conflicted because she didn't want to add timber to the fire. She groaned in annoyance due to the fact that her body was stopping her from saving the girls. A figure immediately grabbed her arm, pushing the blonde to the ground. Skylar was still on the island, complete fine.
"I'd think twice before you do that, Shelby. You wouldn't want your parents to find out that you're dating a girl." Skylar hissed, instantly getting off Shelby and ran into the distance. When the blonde got up and looked into the ocean, the boat was nowhere to be seen. Shelby was on the verge of tears, frustrated with the fact that she let even hesitated for a second. She ruined her chance and got in the way of the safety of the girls and herself.

It's another chapter, guys! I am back! Sorry again for the long wait. I am been very busy with school and whatnot. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about this book. Make sure to watch the second season of the wilds on Amazon Prime Video. I hope that this gem of a show gets renewed for a third season because the cliffhanger needs to be answered. For now, enjoy this book.
