Today was Harry's first task in the tournament. I was sitting on the stands next to Ron, eagerly waiting for the show to start. Hermione left to go wish Harry good luck.
All of us had been helping him practice for weeks now, although it hasn't done much good. As much research and broom flying we had done, we still didn't know what to expect.
We all agreed that Harry would use his only strength, his broom. Professor Moody had a talk with Harry that made him realize what could help him in the tournament.
Hermione came walking back towards me and Ron. She seemed flushed. I heard her mumbling something about Rita Skeeter. Of course, Skeeter was here. Why wouldn't she be?
Hermione sat down in between me and Ron and with a matter of seconds, the cannon erupted and Cedric Diggory came out of the large tent ready to face the dragon.
He seemed nervous, his eyes met mines and I smiled at him. He smiled back, huffed, and ran over towards a rock. The dragon saw him instantly and my heart dropped.
Cedric took out his wand and pointed it towards a rock far from him. Right before our eyes the rock transformed into a dog. It distracted the dragon for a second. Cedric rushed over to the golden egg to retrieve it but the dragon noticed. It blew fire out of its mouth grazing Cedric on the shoulder before he hid behind another gigantic stone.
The crowd gasped, I was on edge. The rock that was now a dog started drawing more attention away from Cedric, he ran as fast as he could towards the egg and captured it. His arm was gushing blood though, I couldn't stand to watch.
Cedric left the stadium and headed back towards Madam Pomfrey. I rushed out of the stands to follow him. Ron pulled me back, "You're going to miss Krum!!" He wined.
"Ron I have to go, I'll probably be back just in time to see him finish." He rolled his eyes and I hurried down towards Cedric.
When I got there he was sitting on the bed and Madam Pomfrey was attending to his wound. I heard him wince out in pain. I walked over to him and his face lit up. "Hey, Gryffindor." He smiled.
"Hey Hufflepuff, are you alright? You did so well. That was really smart Cedric." he chuckled, "Yeah, I'm okay, and thanks. It wasn't the best choice though."
I scoffed, "It was genius." He smiled Madam Pomfrey had left the room by now and it was just us two. His arm was wrapped in bandages. I could hear the audience outside cheering for Victor Krum.
I had pulled a stool next to Cedric's bed and we were just sitting there in silence. It wasn't an uncomfortable silence though, I felt safe. He looks me deep into my eyes and then he leans in and places a soft kiss on my lips.
My heart flutters and my stomach is in knots. He kisses me more, keeping it gentle and then I kiss him back. He pulls away and a huge smile forms on his face.
I was cheesing, lost in his eyes. Then I hear footsteps behind me. "Isabella?" It was Hermione. I jump up, "Mione?!" She walks into the tent and stops, her eyes widen but she plays it off.
"Sorry, It's just Ron keeps talking to me about Krum and I can't stand it anymore."
"Oh, yeah. I'll be there in a minute." I smile at her and she walks away.
I look back down at Cedric and his eyes are glistening, "Go...they need you apparently." He says and I laugh. "You did great Cedric." I don't think he believes he did well in the tournament.
He smiles at me and nods, I place a kiss on his forehead and leave the tent with my heart racing. I go back to the stands where Ron and Hermione are waiting. I sit in between them.
