The next few days were considered to be normal. Everyone was entering their name into the goblet of fire, the tournament is what everyone was talking about. Cedric had entered, along with Krum. Fred and George tried to use an aging potion to enter but it obviously didn't work. They broke out into a fight too, it was pretty funny.
Ron wouldn't stop talking about the prize for winning the tournament, 'Eternal Glory'. It sounds nice I guess but It's not for me. It's not for Harry either, I think that Harry just wants to be normal just as do I.
A few of my other classes were pretty exciting. I had Herbology with Cedric and he was always making me laugh. I had Potions class with Draco which wasn't all that fun. He was constantly ignoring me, which made things easier I guess. I had three classes with him but it's like he barely notices I'm there. I despised Potions class because it's filled with Slytherin's. I don't mind them it's just I have no one to be around. It's awkward.
I wasn't that worried about Voldemort coming back. For all, I know Draco could have been giving me false information. I'm not sure, either way, I'll worry about Voldemort's return when he returns, and until then I'm unfazed.
Hermione has been complaining about Potions a lot. She still thinks Professor Snape hates her, but to be fair I think he hates everyone.
Today was the day that the contestants for the tournament were going to be announced. I was sitting next to Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Seamus in the Great Hall waiting.
"Now the moment you've all been waiting for...The champion selection!" Dumbledore spoke. He turned around and dimed the flames in the corner of the room with his hand. He never taught me that trick.
He walked up to the goblet of fire and gently brushed his hand against the side. "I think he's got a thing for that goblet yeah?" Seamus whispered over to me and I laughed, "Stop! It's not funny." I tried to hide my smile but he continued to laugh. Harry was silently laughing.
After a few seconds, the goblets flames turned a bright red and spit out a paper. Dumbledore took the paper floating in the air and read it aloud, "The Dumstrang champion is Victor Krum!" The guys from Dumstrang cheered. "Yeah!!" one voice said.
Krum went down and shook Dumbledores hand and walked over to the front of the room. It wasn't a surprise Krum had been picked. I mean look at him, it wouldn't be a competition if anyone else from Dumstrang had been selected.
The flames turned red again. Out flew another paper from the goblet. "The champion for Beauxbatons...is Fleur Delacour!" Dumbledore looked over at the Beauxbatons as he spoke her name. Even her name was pretty. All the girls cheered in their soft voices. Fleur stood up with a big smile and walked over to Dumbledore. She shook his hand and stood next to Krum.
Finally, the last champion to be announced. The flames turned red and the parchment slowly floated down into Dumbledores hands. "The Hogwarts champion..." He paused and the room was filled with anticipation. "Cedric Diggory!" All the boys and girls cheered.
He stood up with his flushed cheeks as he smiled big. He hugged and shook as many hands of the Hufflepuffs and even a few Gryffindors around him as he could. He smiled at me and I knew he was happy. I mouthed "Good luck." with a smile and he nodded his head.
He walked up to Dumbledore and shook his hand. Dumbledore was visibly proud. Harry was grinning wide as if he were proud too. I think Harry deeply admired Cedric.
Dumbledore turned around and yelled "Excellent!! We now have our three champions. But in the end, only one will go down in history..."
His voice faded as my attention drew to Barty Crouch senior bringing out a big object wrapped in a blanket. He placed it in between the champions and Dumbledore turned around "The Triwizard Cup!" He yelled and the blanket flew off to reveal an icy blue chalice. It was practically glowing. It had the words 'Triwizard' engraved on the front.
