I was seated down next to Hermione at the Gryffindor table. She was reading a book, like always. "Morning." She said I replied, "Good morning." She smiled, "Good mood today?" She asked and I nodded my head.
I served my plate and looked around for the boys, who seemed to be nowhere in sight. I lifted my head to see Cedric Diggory standing in front of me with a daisy in his hand...I turn to Hermione with a confused look on my face. Everyone seemed to be staring at us. Hermione was cheesing.
I looked back at Cedric and we made deep eye contact. He gave me the daisy and gently smiled at me. He parted his lips to say those 8 words I have been wanting to hear for weeks. "Will you go to the Yule Ball with me?" He asked, I grinned widely and stood up to level with him. "Yes, Yes I will!" I said nodding my head. He smiled widely, then picked me up and spun me around.
My arms were around his neck as he held me. Everyone clapped. Music started playing in the background and then flowers were raining on our heads. Then, the unthinkable happened...
I woke up.
Later that day:
It was only another week until the ball and it seemed like everyone had a date. Well except Harry and Ron of course. I was in the same boat as them. We all knew Ron wanted to go with Hermione and that Harry wanted to go with Cho.
Lorenzo asked Cho to the ball, yes Cho Chang. I guess he had his eyes on her too.
I sat in my room and let out a pout. "I want to cry," I told Hermione, acting very babyish. She sighed, "You dont need a date. I mean you can make a statement and uh...go alone. Well, you won't be completely alone. I'll be there of course." She tried to reassure me, but it didn't seem to help.
The rest of the day flew by like a breeze. So did the next, and the next. It was Sunday, the ball was Saturday. I have officially given up. I didn't even have a dress yet. I was a mess, Hermione noticed.
That Sunday afternoon we decided to go shopping for a dress. I couldn't find anything at all. Every single dress was gone. I was too late. Hermione and I decided to stop at one last store before we headed back to the castle. It was called "Phoebes Fashion."
We slowly walked inside. It seemed like a pretty nice shop. We looked around for a few minutes before the owner came up to us. "Looking for a dress are you?" She asked in a sweet calm voice.
I nodded, "Yes, but I can never seem to find anything." She squinted her eyes and formed a smile on her face. The woman had very big puffy blonde hair and dressed in layered clothes. She had a small pair of glasses and thin lips that she coated with red lipstick. She owned a pair of piercing big green eyes.
Her eyes darted between Hermione and me, "Follow me" She said in a relaxed tone. We followed her to the back of the store behind a curtain that led to a small room big enough for about 5 people.
There in the middle of the room had been the perfect dress on a mannequin. I slowly walked up to the dress and examined it carefully.
It was a beautiful gold dress, with off the shoulder straps. It had a pair of white gloves and matching gold heels. It was gorgeous. I checked the price tag, it was ridiculously overpriced. I huffed and looked back at the owner with puppy eyes. "I'm sorry, I dont have enough for this dress."
She smiled. "Dont worry my child. It will soon come into your possession." She said, in a soft voice. It was calming, trusting even. I had no idea what she meant. Hermione had worried eyes, she tugged at my shoulder, "Come on Isabella let's go." She whispered.
