The Tenth Titan (AOT Fan Fic)

9. The Second Stage of Greif: Anger

After the scouts arrived back from the mission, they held a funeral for the eight who died on the expedition. Including Sasha. They also locked up Eren, Gabi, and Falco. When you attended the funeral, a fight broke out between Nicolo and a Marleyian.

"Please! Is... Sasha really dead?" He asked, making the man stop in his tracks.

Standing next to the said females grave, Mikasa, Jean, and Connie led him over. You watch from under your hair as he collapsed in front of Sasha's grave.

"Haha.. How ridiculous..." He nervously chuckled.

The three began to explain before Connie crouched down after he thanked him for making Sasha delicious meals.

"Common, let's let her family have their moment too," you interrupted.

They agreed as you lead them away. Watching the family, you clenched your fist before deciding if was time for you to leave. departing from the grave yard full of fallen soldiers, you felt a ping of anger bubble with in' your chest but decided to ignore it for now. You've only been here once and hope never to return to such a place again. You could only hope however, knowing you'd be back here soon.

Later, you heard from a couple of cadets that they had restrained Yelena's group after they've done so much for the corps. Taking a deep breath, you knew it had already started. Eren's plan was about to unfold and you didn't want to be in the middle of it. You found yourself wondering around base. The hallways were full of old millitary captain and commander pictures. Before you could go further down the hall, you stumbled upon a chestnut covered door. Familiar voice could be heard on the other side.  Delicately your pale hand reached for the silver nob until it opened to reveal your commrads. They had changed into their citizen clothes, unlike you who kept on the cadets trench coat and gear.

"You..." Connie growled.

Everyone watched as he angerliy stumbled his way towards you. He wasn't known to hold grudges but this was a special case. Caught by surprise, he grabbed you by your collar and threw you onto the floor in front of Jean, Armin, and Mikasa. You looked up at him throgh the strands of your white hair, giving him a wide eyed look. You've never seen Connie so angry and it almost scared you, the guardian.

"Connie!" Armin shouted as they stood up.

"AND YOU!" He shouted, towering over you.

Jean and Armin had to hold him back by his arms as Mikasa stood between the two of you. Slightly, you picked yourself up off the floor and looked through your messy hair at Connie's angered face.

"YOU KNEW DIDN'T YOU! YOU KNEW AND DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO STOP HER FROM DYING! WHY!! Why didn't you save, Sasha... Your supposed to protect us..." He slightly pleaded toward the end.

The attention was brought onto you as you stood up, dusting yourself off in the process.

"I can't stop someone's fate, god knows I would switch my life for hers and many others..." You explained.

"You mean..." Connie trailed off as Armin and Jean let go.

Mikasa looked into your purple eyes as your gaze shifted onto your hands. Blood of many seemed to appear as you stare at them with a distant look in your eyes.

"Someone important would still die if I did save Sasha... It probably would have been one of us instead..." You go on. "It's true I knew that Gabi was going to be the one to kill her... But, what Eren's about to do... Is going to be so much worse if him and Zeke touch hands."

Everyone's eyes widen at your statement.

"Go ahead, beat me up if it'll make you feel better. I'm still going to protect the few that I can... Though I must be honest with you all, I do not know the final out come of this war," You finish.

Suddenly, the door to the room opens with commander Hange and Pixis. From behind, the military troops begin to surround you personally. They pushed your friends too the side as the anxiously look towards the commander.

"What's going on?" Mikasa spat out, trying to keep heraelf from punching someone.

You stare at the commander as she gives you an apologic look.

"I'm sorry (y/n), but, do to certain circumstances and what we just heard, we have to detain you," she sounded heart broken.

Guns were drawn on you as your friends give the commander a shocked look.

"She has done nothing to us for us think she'd betray us!" Armin shots.

"Commander!" Jean follows up.

Your eyes widen before the sound of rain is heard pittering against the window.

"So, it is true," Pixis states. "It does rain when you cry."

Lighting strikes from outside, Illuminating the room. Your face held anger even though tears fell.

How could they do this to you? After all that you've done for them.

"(Y/n)," Connie whispers.

It was the first time anyone had seen you truly angry. Hange was also surprised, making her feel even worse than before.

"Hange..." You look down, clenching your fists. "I trusted you!" You shouted, making the building rumble. Looking up, your purple eyes began to glow, " after everything we've been through? ...it's fine." You draw off," either way, I have no choice."

Without a second notice, your form had disappeared in the shape of Lilly's. Leaving everyone in wonder, but the four scouts in the room.

"Scout the paremisis," Pixis commands.

The soldiers split up, leaving Hange alone with her scouts.

"Why? Why go after (y/n) when you know she's innocent?" Armin questions.

The room falls silent as they waited for Hange's answer.

"It wasn't my choice," she states simply. "It was Pixis who made this command, especially since Eren and the two kids have escaped."

The tension in the room rises once more, " Levi has yet to send a message. I'm going to go check on him, I have a bad feeling about all this."

"What are we supposed to do now?" Jean speaks up after the commander leaves. "We've lost (y/n), she knew Eren's next moves, what now?"

Armin puts a hand under his chin and tries to think of something. Before he or Connie could speak up, Mikasa puts her two cents in.

"She said she had no choice, that can only mean about her pledge to us, the people on Paradise Island," she states.

"She has no choice but to help us... It's why she's here in the first place," Connie finishes regret in his voice.

Jean clenches his fist, "I hate this... Everything is about to fall onto her, even the guardian who knows everything about us doesn't even know what will come out of Eren's actions."
