10. My Mission?

Stumbling through the rain, you find yourself outside the city walls with white petals falling from your hair. It was nothing but farmland and a couple of trees for the eyes to see. Your heart was broken in two, but you should have seen this coming from miles away. Coming to a stop, you find yourself at a farmhouse, the lights were dim inside the big barn-like home. People were sat at the dining room table that was positioned in front of the window. You could only see their silhouettes. Next to the farm home was a single tree and acres of fence line. Soaking wet, you stomp through the mud and use the tree as shade. Sliding down its bark, a shaky sigh leaves your lips. 

"I just want to wake up from this horrible dream..."

Before you knew it, your vision turned dark as you fell asleep to the pitter of the rain on the tree's leaves.

"Mai's jealous that her big brother's getting stolen away from her!"

"Well don't play with that thing! It's dangerous!"

"You got it!"

A small commotion woke you up to the bright light of the sun. Blinking away the tiredness, you look around before your purple eyes land at the fence line to find a couple of children fighting over a pitchfork. Their backs were to you but you knew exactly who they were. Standing up, You stripped off your scout coat revealing a white, long sleeve against your green khakis. Your gear was still attached minus the actual ODM gear itself. Purple eyes watch the three children take off into the woods before you decide it was time to confront the two Marleyians. They brought you to the village Sasha saved a little girl from getting eaten by a small titan. The three entered the house before you approached. Stopping just at the property line, you could hear the little girl plead with the two before it becomes silent once more.  

Standing outside, in front of the house, you waited for them to exit. When they did, Falco and Gabi gave you fearful looks while the little girl gives you a questionable look. You gave them a blank stare before the two Marleyian's stood in front of the girl in protection.

"Run! We'll buy you time!" They shout.

"Huh? Mrs.(L/n)?" she questions.

You nod at the little girl, "go ahead back to the farm, I need to talk to these two about their parents."

She gives you a hesitant nod before wandering back towards the farm.

"You're that titan shifter! You knocked Reiner out in a single kick..." Falco states in shock.

You look to the side before back at the two kids.

"Who are you... We were only told that the people on Paradis Island only had three titans... Eren has two, " Gabi speaks beside her friend.

"Yes, it is true, but, the books never told you about the Guardian of the titans... I was sent by Ymir to this Island to protect everyone, but, as you can see, I can't protect everyone," you explain, looking at Gabi. 

She looks down with regret, "Look, I didn't know that you all were just like us..." She tries.

You take a step forward to place a comforting hand on her shoulder. Surprised, she looks up into your purple eyes.

"I know, there's no right or wrong here. We each were taught differently," you comfort.

Falco looks at you, "You're a Royal... Arent you?"

letting go of Gabi, you shift your head towards him, " Yes, I had no choice. But... you two do."

Stepping back, they watch your every movement, "Take my advice and be careful and don't regret your decisions... Who am I kidding, why listen to a devil?" You slightly laugh before taking your leave.
