Colliding with the unexpected

The trolls

Amanda cautiously moved through the bushes. Keeping quiet and sly like a cat. She moved the bushes that blocked her vision and shrunk down when she spotted three massive trolls cooking something over a fire pit. From the corner of her eye she could see Bilbo creeping over to the ponies pen so he could release them, but the rope was too thick...

She sighed and slunk behind the trolls, catching Bilbos attention "what are you doing here!?" He mouthed

"Helping you!" She mouthed back. She took out one of her swords and began to saw through the rope until she heard a yelp and saw that Bilbo had been caught in the trolls handkerchief.

"Ere! Look what's came outta me ooter! It's got arms and legs and everything!" It shrieked

"I don like the way it squirms!" Another said as Bilbo was thrown to the ground. Amanda immediately went to him and helped him up "ooh look! A pretty girl! She would make a tasty dessert yes?" One of the trolls said

Amanda growled lowly in her throat and armed herself to protect Bilbo.

"What are you!?" The leading troll asked the tiny hobbit.

"I'm a burgler ahhhh Hobbit!" Bilbo quickly covered.

(Aha their names are Bert, William and Tom as I recall)

"A burglar Hobbit?" Bert asked

"Can we cook him?" Tom asked further

"We can try. He wouldn't make more than a mouthful. Not when he's skinned and boned." William growled

"Perhaps there's more burglar Hobbits around these parts.Might be enough for a pie." Tom said cheerfully. They made a move to grab Amanda and Bilbo but they began running around avoiding their clutches.

"Bilbo! Get out of here now!" Amanda hissed. Bilbo opened his mouth to say something but he was cut off when Amanda was caught into Bert's hands "are there any more of you hiding where they shouldn't be?" He growled in her face. It took all her might not to vomit due to the smell.

"Nope nooooo just me and my friend here!" Amanda covered, watching from the corner of her eye at Bilbo who resumed saw ing the rope...

"She's lying!" Tom sneered

"Hold er toes over the fire! Make er squeal!" William smirked. Bert smirked and lowered Amanda to the fire, expecting her to cry out in pain.

But the fire licked at her legs and oddly enough for Amanda. She couldn't feel it "that tickles!" She giggled.

"Eh!? Is this one a witch!?" Bert asked in shock. He was cut off when Kili barged in and sliced Bert's legs. He faced the three trolls "Drop her!" He yelled

"You what!?" William growled. Kili let a smirk lace his features as he swung his sword in a stance "I said...drop her" he growled in warning. William threw Amanda towards Kili who caught her easily just as the company ran in to attack.

Kili checked Amanda over " are you alright!? Are you hurt?!" He asked frantically.

"Yes yes I'm fine! Come on!" She said grabbing her swords. They both jumped in and began attacking the trolls. With her twin swords. She jabbed and spun and sliced at their feet, feeling the rush of adrenaline go through her veins.

Amanda stopped fighting, noticing Bilbo was caught "Bilbo!" She cried but she was stopped by Thorin and Kili.

"Lay down your arms! Or we'll rip his off!" William warned. Everyone remained still until Thorin put down his sword. The rest followed on in defeat.

The dwarves were forced to remove their armour and some were stuffed in bags while the others were tied on a stick over the fire. Amanda was tied up on a tree above them as she was to be saved last for dessert. She blew a piece of hair out of her face "well this could get ugly..." She mumbled looking over the struggling dwarves.

She then remembered Fiona

"There might be hope yet" she said hopefully, gazing out into the woods.

The spot where Fiona should have been was empty, with only some rope remaining...

The said girl had tracked down where everyone was and was hiding in the bushes, awaiting her next move. Kiba let out a low growl next to her but calmed down when she stroked his head "easy boy. We have to wait" she whispered.

"Never mind the seasoning. We ain't got all night. Dawn ain't far away. Let's get a move on. I don't fancy being turned to stone." William grumbled, but Fiona heard it. She quickly ran the other direction to find Gandalf at the camp.

"Fiona! Where is everyone?" He asked curiously.

"Trolls!" She said quickly. Gandalf needed no explanation and ran with her....

Meanwhile, Amanda wriggled around, trying to get out if the ropes that rubbed against her arms as Bilbo made a feeble attempt to distract the Trolls.

"Wait! You are making a terrible mistake.!" He yelled jumping to his feet.

"You can't reason with them. They're half-wits!" Oin yelled

"Half-wits? What does that make us?" Tom asked insulted.

"I meant with the seasoning." Bilbo quickly said

"What about the seasoning?"

Well, have you smelt them? You're gonna need something stronger than sage before you plate this lot up." He said indicating his head towards them. Amanda rolled her eyes when the dwarves began to yell insults at him.

"Nothing wrong with a bit of raw dwarf or female witches! Nice and crunchy!" Tom cackled picking Amanda off the tree. She began to struggle and growl at him "I swear if you don't put me down immediately I'll rip your eyes out!" She yelled in anger

"She's got a temper this one" Bert mumbled.

"Wait! Don't eat her! She's infected! All of them are! They have worms and Parisians in their tubes!" Bilbo warned.

"Parasites!"
"We don't have parasites! You've got parasites!"

Thorin seemed to pick up what Bilbo was up to and sent a swift kick to Kilis back.

"I've got parasites as big as my arm!" Kili yelled

"As big as my head!" Fili yelled.

Amanda mentally chuckled at their exaggeration.

"What do you suggest? Let them all go?" William asked

"Well..." Bilbo began.

"The ferrets playing us for fools!" Bert growled

"Ferret!" Bilbo squeaked in offence.

He was almost done for until two figures appeared " the dawn will take you all!" Gandalf yelled

"Who's that?"

"Can we eat him?"

Fiona who was next to Gandalf leaped off the rock and grabbed Amanda from Toms clutches just as Gandalf struck the rock, letting in the sunlight. The three trolls cried out in pain as they slowly turned to stone.

"Yes!" Fiona cheered with the other dwarves. Thorin even smiled, glad to see that his company were safe and also that Fiona was in one piece.

Gandalf assisted in helping the dwarves from their bags until Fiona squeaked and covered her eyes when she realised the dwarves were in their underwear. But her face went red when she saw Thorin with no shirt on.

"Still so innocent" Amanda mumbled while patting Fiona's head.

"Where were you in the whole ordeal lassie!?" Bofur sighed in relief when he reached Fiona who frowned and pointed at Amanda "she tied me up...." She growled. Everyone looked at Amanda who laughed nervously "what can I say? I'm protective of her" she said
