Amanda curled up further into her bed covers as the light streamed in through her windows. It was the middle of winter and all she could dream about was to be able to hibernate like some animals without having her mother nag in her ear. She sighed in content and snuggled in the warmth of her bed.

But there was one thing she didn't count on.

Being jumped by her close friend Fiona, who had arranged to visit her for the weekend, but as usual, Amanda failed to check her phone to see when she was coming...

When Fiona made contact with the mattress, Amanda was bounced off right onto the floor "get up lazy bones! It's one in the afternoon!" She heard her yell.

"Uuuuuuuugh!" Amanda groaned, lifting her head up. She glared at Fiona's innocent face but ceased her anger. It was very hard to be angry at her...

Fiona was a very pretty young girl with shoulder length dark blonde hair that often shined a light red in the sun light. Her skin was often pale but had a peachy glow to it, pink lips and what stood out to most was her bright blue eyes that were like twinkling sapphires, and if you looked close enough, you could see small sparks of silver through them.

Amanda was a real vision of beauty amongst others. She was a rather tall person with long lush chocolate brown hair that reached her mid back and had sun kissed skin from her previous holiday with her family. Her eyes were a sparkling dark brown that could look into your soul. Her lips were also pink but she often wore red lipstick which made her eyes stand out more.

Amanda let out a large huff and laid her chin down on the floor "Ok. I'm up....what are you doing here anyway?" She grumbled half asleep.

Fiona pretended to think "Hmmm let me think, it's Friday, and we agreed girls weekend...wake up you ninny!" She laughed. Amanda grumbled under her breath as she retreated to the bathroom while Fiona made her bed for her. When she was ready she opened her cupboard "I've got a surprise for you" she said.

She smirked when she spotted Fiona's excited face. She LOVED surprises. Amanda pulled out a box with the whole set of the hobbit and lord of the rings DVDs.

"Gasp! Movie marathon! Yes!" Fiona cheered. Amanda laughed and opened the first hobbit movie "yup! Hobbit first, then finally for you The Lord of the rings! Oh! And here's your christmas present by the way" she said handing her cheery friend a box. Fiona opened it and grinned "I love it! Thank you!"

Amanda had gotton her a pendant that was the shape of a wolfs head with a clear blue stone as it's eye. Amanda had a Phoenix pendant with a ruby gem around her neck. Both of them loved things that symbolised their favorite elements. Fiona was water and Ice whilst Amanda was Fire and Lightning. They often used them in their stories that they would write.

So the girls settled down as the movie began, giggling at Bilbos flustered state when Gandalf asked for him to join in the adventure.

However that was when the screen began to act strange, causing the girls to look at each other in wonder before getting up off the bed to investigate "what's up with it?" Fiona asked

"Dunno, this hasn't happened before" Amanda mumbled, giving the side of the tv a whack. It turned blank with only a single white dot showing.

"Ugh! Stupid tv!" Amanda yelled.

"Erm Amanda..." Fiona said pointing to the dot that grew bigger every second. A breeze flew into the room towards the tv then grew stronger "what the hell!?" Fiona screamed

"Hold on Fiona!" Amanda yelled grabbing her hand. They held onto the door for dear life but they were lifted from the floor and the next thing they knew, everything went dark....
