A price to pay

The girls smiled as they watched their other half slowly open their eyes. With a smiled Amanda kissed Kili's lips tenderly as she held his cheeks. Fiona doing the same with Thorin.

" How am I still alive? I thought I died?" Kili asked as he looked into Amanda's soft yet sad eyes. Fili groaned and sat up, rubbing his head like he had just woke up with a hangover from a heavily night of drinking.

" Fiona, what have you done?" Thorin asked her with a confused and frightened look in his eyes.

" We brought you back, all three of you and all the Elves, men and dwarves that have fallen in this battle. No lives apart from the orcs, goblins and all the other foul creatures, have been lost." Amanda whispered to Kili as he sat up, Thorin sat up as Fiona sat upon his lap curling into his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat with a smile.

" But such a spell must come with consequences?" Thorin asked looking into Fiona's eyes and in return Fiona looked down with a sigh and nodded. Kili saw this and felt his heart drop.

" I am afraid so." Amanda whispered as her breathing began to grow heavy.

" Amanda, what did you do?" Kili asked her sternly as she just smiled to him. A single tears fell from her eye as she sees her love safe and well.

" What did you give in return?" Thorin asked Fiona who smiled at him softly. Amanda became weak and fell forward into Kili as he caught her.

" Amanda?!" He asked as he cradled her in his arms. Fiona found herself to weak now as well as she fell into Thorin's. Fili looked at them and sat quietly observing. Realisation dawned in Thorin on what the girls had done.

" Fiona! You stupid girl." Thorin growled to her as tears threatened to spill from his eyes. Fiona only smiled softly as her breathing became shallow.

" We gave our lives." Amanda mumbled to Kili with a soft smile.

" Why?" Kili squeaked to her.

" Because you three are destined for great things, you are destined to rule Erebor and see it glory returned." Amanda muttered to him.

" For so long you have lead your people with no place to call home. Now that you have reclaimed your homeland, you can live in happiness." Fiona said reaching a hand to Thorin's cheek with a smiled. Thorin placed a hand on top her cheek and shook his head.

" But this your home to." Thorin told her as Fiona shook her head.

" This is not our home. Our home is far beyond here. Where this quest was nothing but a book turned into a motion picture." Fiona muttered to him.

" And candles no longer need to light up a room, nor horses need to pull carriages." Amanda muttered out loud for them too hear.

" Where you can contact someone from the other side of the world in an instant." Fiona smiled to herself as she remembered her world.

" The world we left behind was indeed beautiful and spectacular, if we only had more time. We could tell you many tales and sing many songs." Fiona spoke softly out to the three.

" But this world, Middle Earth. Has given us so much more than the other." Amanda smiled weakly to Kili and tears dripped from his eyes.

" It has given us wonderful memories, both good and bad." Fiona muttered to Thorin.

" Friendships that was last forever." Amanda said as both she and Fiona took a hand each of Fili's and held them tightly.

" It has taught us lessons we could never have learnt in our world." Fiona said with a smile. Looking to Amanda as she looked back.

" But most of all, this has given us the most precious gift. That will never be forgotten or lost." Amanda smiled to Kili once more as he pulled his head onto her forehead as her tears mixed with his own. Thorin placed a hand on the back of Fiona's neck and pulled her head to his softly.

" Your love." Amanda and Fiona whispered at the exact same time. Kili immediately placed his lips onto Amanda's as Thorin kissed Fiona.

" I love you, my King Under the Mountain." Fiona managed to choke out as she struggled to breath.

" No, no, no please. I am sorry, for everything horrible I have ever said to you and done to you. Just please stay with me." Thorin choked out through his desperate attempts to keep her with him as long as he could.

" You were forgiven for everything the moment it happened. I am sorry." Fiona mumbled to him as Thorin placed his hand onto hers which was on his cheek.

" Goodbye, my king. Fili look after him for me." Fiona ordered him with a weak smile.

" Of course." Fili mumbled with tears slipping down his cheek. With one last smile, Fiona looked to Thorin and released her last breath. Her eyes closed for the last time.

" I love you, my Queen. My Angel in the stars." Thorin cried as he held her to him, no wanting to let her go. Her grip of Fili's hand relaxed showing she was gone. Kili chocked a sob at the loss of Fiona then looked down to his dying star in his arms.

" Kili, my husband." Amanda smiled to her loved one.

" Such a short married life we had, but I hold all those moments like they were gold." Amanda smiled to him as tears fell from her eyes.

" As have I, my shining star." Kili whispered to her taking her hand and kissing it before placing it against his chest.

" I wish I had a chance to give you everything. To give you a child and more. But alas that seems not to be." Amanda muttered to him. She swallowed with a painful grunt. Kili tried to calm her down as her breathing quickened.

" Kili, I am scared." Amanda whined weakly, Kili was taken aback from her words as she never admitted to being scared of anything. But now she was laying in his arms dying and there was nothing he could do about it. He just hushed her and rocked her as she breathed in heavily.

" Fili take care of your brother for me." Amanda whispered looking at him as he nodded, no longer trusting his voice.

" And Kili, my husband. I love you so much." Amanda cried as she began to grunted loudly in pain.

" One last kiss. Is all I want." Amanda asked him pleadingly. Kili smiled and placed his lips tenderly onto hers. He filled the kiss with as much love as he could. He felt Amanda smile into the kiss as her grip on his and Fili's hand disappeared and she became limp in his arms. He pulled away and placed his forehead onto her a softly cried over her. Fiona and Amanda both looked like they were only sleeping peacefully.

Under the purple sky's of the setting sun, on the frozen waterfall of raven hill over looking Erebor and beyond, they lay within the arms of the dwarves they gave their hearts to. In a peaceful slumber, from which they would never again wake from.
