There's an army of elves outside!" Bofur yelled. Fiona snapped her head up and went to the gates just in time to see Thorin shoot an arrow at Thranduiel but it missed him and almost hit the elks foot. Bard sat on his horse beside him quietly as Thorin readied another arrow but the elven king Thranduiel signalled the archers behind him to lower their bows.
" we have come to tell you, payment of you debt has been offered and accepted." Thranduil called to them. Thorin never taking his aim from the elven king.
"What payment? I gave you nothing, you have nothing." Thorin called back. Thranduil looked to bard who reached into his jacket. He pulled out a stone.
" we have this." Bard showed the dwarves the Arkenstone that Fiona and Bilbo had delivered to them. The dwarves looked down and stared in disbelief.
" They have the arkenstone, thieves! How came you by the heirloom of our house! That stone belongs to the king!" Kili cried out to them.
" The king may have it, with our good will." Bard said placing it back into the pocket of his jacket.
" But first, he must honour his word." Bard finished off.
" They are taking us for fools." Thorin whispered to his men.
" it is aroose." Thorin growled to them again.
" a filthy lie! The Arkenstone is in this mountain it is a trick!" Thorin called back. Bilbo stepped forward to tell them the truth, but Fiona stopped him with a small smile. She turned to face Thorin's back and opened her mouth to speak.
" It's no trick. The stone is real." Amanda spoke as she stepped up to Thorin. Everyone looked to her with a confused and betrayed look.
" I gave it to them." Amanda to him as her head turned to Fiona.
' You must stay here, so we can have contact on both sides. Let me take the fall.' She thought to Fiona. She wanted to protest but quickly closed her mouth with the look Amanda gave her.
" You?" Thorin growled facing her. Amanda stood tall and unfazed by him. Thorin waked over to her with heavy feet.
" Amanda? Why?" Kili asked hurt clear in his voice. It pained Amanda to know she caused this hurt, but it was necessary.
" You would steal from me?" Thorin asked her Amanda just shook her head.
" I am no thief Thorin." Amanda growled to him as Thorin threw down the bow in his hand and marched over to her.
" You are a thief!" He yelled to her.
" I was going to give it to you, so many times. But you cannot see what I see. You are changed Thorin! The dwarf we meet would not have gone back on his word!" Amanda said stepping forward.
" Or doubted the loyalty of his kin! Or hurt his love for that matter." Amanda whispered the last part.
" Do not speak to me of loyalty and love!" Thorin growled to her as he looked around him.
" Throw her from the rampardes!" Thorin commanded but no one complied.
"Did you not hear me?" Thorin growled yet no one moved. He turned and grabbed a hold of Amanda and dragged her to the wall.
" Then I will do it myself!" He yelled as everyone tried to stop him. Fiona jumped forwards but. Thorin threw her to the ground. He managed to pick Amanda and easily launched her over the wall.
" NO!" Fiona and Kili yelled together as they watched her fall from the wall to the ground. Towards the water below. Bard and Thranduil turned their head in order not to see what was about to happen as Amanda fell to the water below.
Thorin smirked in satisfaction as Bard jumped off his horse and rushed to Amanda's aid, pulling her from the water. Fiona and Kili could see she was limp and horrible thought rushed through their heads. Bard held her soaked body in his arms.
" Amanda? Amanda?" Bard called to her as she forced her eyes open, she was pale and weak from the water. Bard sighed happily as he lifted Amanda up in the bridal hold.
Fiona watched in horror from above 'Amanda! Can you hear me!?' She cried.
'I'm ok Fiona. You know what water does to me. It will take a day for me to recover. But, you need to stay there for what's to come so I can warn you. I'll be ok I promise' she heard Amanda whisper through her mind. Fiona mentally nodded.
'I will.' She could feel Amanda's smirk.
'let him have it girl.' She said as she felt Fionas anger. Fiona held it in as Bard looked up to the top of the mountain.
"will you have peace!? Or war!?" He yelled out the them above as he stopped at the side of his horse holding Amanda. There was an Erie silence until a raven appeared beside Thorin who growled out.
"I will have war." Bard looked at him solemnly.
"so be it." He replied as he placed Amanda on his horse and began riding back to Dale with the others by his side.
" What are you doing? You cannot go to war." Bilbo called to Thorin who began walking away
" This does not concern you." Thorin grumbled not even looking at him.
" Excuse me, in case you haven't noticed there is an army of elves out there." Bilbo called stating the obvious.
" Not to mention several hundred angry fishermen. We are in fact out numbered." Bilbo finished off
" Not for much longer." Thorin smiled turning to look at him. Fiona watched him cautiously as he walked towards Bilbo.
" What does that mean?" Bilbo asked him.
" It means, master Baggins. You should never underestimate dwarves?" He said a little to proudly. Fiona placed a hand onto Bilbo's shoulder and smiled to him softly. Thorin had grown not to be himself ever since he entered this mountain. He was about to leave when a small hand forced him to turn. He was faced with the furious face of Fiona.
"I can't believe you Thorin! This isn't you! Can't you just give them their share and be done with it!?" Fiona screamed in Thorins face.
"What did they do to deserve it!? Letting us go!?" He roared.
"They have no where to go! It was destroyed because of us and you know it! You are blinded by this sickness! Wake up you pig headed fool!" Fiona yelled shoving him back slightly. Red blinded Thorins vision and he advanced towards her.
"how dare you touch me you wench! I could kill you right now if I wanted to. Infact I should have killed you and your weak friend when I had the chance" he growled. Fili and Kili held their hands over the hilts of their swords encase something were to happen. They didn't count on Fionas eyes turning red for a second and canines grow amongst her teeth. The company stepped back in fear as Fiona hunched over, growling like a wolf, droplets of water from the moat below rose and came dangerously close to Thorin. He stepped back in fear, his sickness seemingly vanishing for a moment.
"You dare threaten MY master dwarf!? I should snap your neck right here and now! You will leave her be or face my wrath!" A male voice growled from Fionas throat. The dwarves stood in shock as Fionas eyes became blue again and the canines vanish. She fell forward breathing heavily.
"Fiona...I" Thorin began as he reached for her but she slapped his hand away and left the wall. Running deep into the mountain away from their eyes.
Thorins eyes became dark again with the sickness and he stormed away.
"What was that?" Kili whispered.
"That Kili, was the spirit of the white wolf and Thorin has angered it. We had better keep an eye on Fiona." Balin informed him. Kili nodded and looked towards the battle field.
"Please be alright my love" he mumbled before he went inside the mountain to find Fiona.
Bilbo looked out and spotted an army of dwarves on one side of the field and his face drained of all colour
"Mahal let this end well" he mumbled as he left to prep for battle.
