"THORIN OAKINSHIELD!" Fiona screamed. Thorin cringed "I forgot her sense of smell" he mumbled as he stopped walking and stood by a willow tree, waiting for her to come to him. As expected she burst out of the trees with rage lacing her features
And that rage was towards him.
"You fucking pervert! How dare you!? That is something you are NOT allowed to see!" She screamed. Thorin was slightly taken aback. She had never screamed at him or anyone before.
She stormed up to him and shoved him back "I thought you of all people would have some respect for women but clearly not!" She screamed further before throwing in a punch. Thorin stopped her by catching her fist, then did the same to the other "Fiona it isn't like that I swear!" He tried to explain
"That's what they all say!" She hissed before lifting him over her shoulder to the ground. He rolled away when her heels came down, narrowly missing him "Fiona let me explain!" He begged
"I don't want to hear it! You and all other men are the same! You'll do anything to try and get women into bed with them! I've had enough of it!" She yelled. Thorin grabbed her by the shoulders to cease her movements "Fiona enough! You need to calm down!" He said.
"No! For once I'm standing up for myself! This had happened far to much and I'm sick of it! I'm sick of my heart breaking!" She screamed and continued to struggle and hit his chest with her small fists but she slowed down and began to shake, feeling the tears brim up over her eyes.
'Dam it don't cry!' She mentally thought.
"Men are all the same and so are dwarves as far as I can see" she whimpered. Some stray tears rolled down her cheek and Thorins heart clenched in guilt. He knew he had really upset her now. Gently he wiped away her tears.
"Alright Fiona. Will you listen to me now?" He asked softly. Another punch was sent to his shoulder making Thorin wince but he began to speak
"It was an accident Fiona. you are the last person I'd want to disrespect, let alone upset" he whispered. He held her tighter to him. It felt right to him. Having her in his arms like this
"I had no idea you have had your heart broken so many time. I don't want to break it further. I want to mend it, and keep it under lock and key so no man will ever hurt you again" he said.
Fiona sniffed and gently pushed him away "a lot of men say things like that and don't mean it" she whispered
She turned to walk away but was stopped by him pulling her back and the next thing Fiona knew, his lips were on hers.
She froze under his touch and felt his arms wrap around her waist tightly. Her hands were on his shoulders. She felt like everything slowed down around her, from the breezing willow tree branches to the water than ran in a stream beside them.
Thorin pulled his lips away from hers "but I mean it...I want your heart to keep it from breaking ever again" he shakingly said.
Both were silent. Only the sounds of the wind and the crickets were heard as they stood under the moonlight.
"Fiona?" Thorin asked.
He watched her blink and step away. She felt her heart thump against her chest so hard, she would have sworn it would jump out that very second but it didn't.
"I...I..." She whispered. She looked at Thorins face that held love and longing. Did he really love her?
She couldn't risk it...not again
"I'm sorry Thorin...this is too much" she whimpered before jogging away.
"Fiona wait!" Thorin called, but she used her speed before he could catch her.
A stab of pain jabbed at his heart. His one and only...had rejected him....
