Once Abandoned, Now Found

Chapter 18

A/N: I'm only a day late! This chapter is just intended to be cute, but don't worry, the final part to their big conversation has not been forgotten.

Also, just to clarify, this is a non-sexual age-regression story, so when I say "playtime" I mean only playing with toys/make-believe with children and adults, nothing else.

"Alex" Alex felt herself being lightly shaken.

"Alex baby" the voice and the shaking happened again.

Alex whined in unhappiness at whoever was disturbing her and attempted to turn over and curl into a ball, her attempt stopped by the mean person.

"Alex baby, it's lunchtime" Maggie cooed, shaking the girl slightly to wake her up.

Alex whined again, batting at Maggie's hands as she attempted to fall back to sleep.

"Oh I know baby, I'm so mean, but the food is ready and Danni's made your favourite" Maggie's attempts continued.

Alex perked up at the mention of her favourite food but decided that it wasn't enough to wake her from her relaxing sleep, so she huffed and curled up.

Each time Maggie tried to move her Alex huffed loudly and shifted to make it as awkward as possible, aiming to fall back to sleep quickly so she didn't have to deal with this waking-up nonsense.

"Alright baby, I'm sorry but you haven't given me another choice" Maggie sent a silent prayer to whichever god kept Alex calm, before scooping her up and sitting her upright on her hip.

The god did not grant Maggie's wish.

As soon as Alex was moved she began to cry loudly, trying to push herself away from Maggie.

"Sleep" Alex cried, "let me sleep!"

Maggie was so shocked she nearly dropped Alex, all of her post-nap actions suggested that little Alex was back, but crying on her hip was big Alex.

"No can do darling, you've got mac and cheese to eat" Maggie consoled Alex as best she could, bouncing her on her hip and guiding her head towards her neck, hoping that the rhythm and darkness would soothe the girl.

"Mac and cheese?" Alex whispered to Maggie hopefully, not sure if she had heard the woman right.

"That's right bug, Danni's made you the best mac and cheese ever! And there's so much cheese I think you might become it!" Maggie whirled Alex around, unleashing a fit of giggles from the girl.

Maggie began to carry Alex through to the kitchen but Alex stopped her with a pout.

"Maggieeeeee, I'm big, I can walk" Alex protested, squirming in an attempt to be let down.

"Oh are you?" Maggie asked, one eyebrow raised at the girl.

"Yesssss, please let me down" Alex continued her squirming.

"Alright baby, here you go" Maggie gently let Alex down and watched her run into the kitchen at full pelt, screaming something about cheese.

"Big my ass" Maggie mumbled to herself.

Maggie was right. Just like when Danni had made mac and cheese a few days earlier, Alex got it everywhere. By the end of the meal, it seemed like most of it was either on Alex's face, in her hair, or on her clothes, as she hadn't needed a bib because she's "big".

"Oops," Alex grinned, scooping the last of her meal into her mouth (mostly).

"Oops, I don't know if oops covers it munchkin" Danni laughed, collecting up the bowls and used cutlery to hopefully signify to Maggie who was washing Alex.

"Oops," Alex said again.

Maggie and Danni were just happy to see her smile, after days of sadness, it was nice to have their cheeky monkey back.

"I'll wash up babe, you can wash the stinker" Maggie was grinning now, having successfully taken over the kitchen and prevented Danni from avoiding the bathtub.

"Hey! I'm not a stinker!" Alex yelled at them from her seat.

She definitely did not fall off the seat multiple times, absolutely not. She's big and therefore an adult. No child present, not even an inkling of littleness. It was the fork's fault that the food got everywhere.

"Hmm, I'm not so sure" Maggie tapped her chin playfully, shooting Alex a wink.

Alex stuck her tongue out in response.

"Alright Lexi bug, bath time!" Danni attempted to be optimistic, but she knew how Alex baths went, and that meant she would be getting one too.

Once both were out of sight Maggie allowed herself a small celebration, she would be staying dry. For now.

As Maggie began loading the dishwasher, upstairs Alex and Danni were having a small argument.

"I don't need help having a bath, in fact, I'm going to have a shower!" Alex said decidedly, crossing her arms and stomping her foot.

"You sure?" Danni asked, an idea coming to mind.

"Yes, I'm big, so I can do it myself." Alex began to halter a little, she had been big for days, and now she could feel the headspace filtering in around the edges of her mind.

"Well, I guess I'll have to use these bath crayons all by myself then" Danni sighed, making sure that Alex saw her take the packet from underneath the sink and place them on the edge of the bathtub.

"Bath crayons?" Alex mumbled, trying to resist the temptation to look at the bath time toy.

"Yeah, it means that I can write and draw on the walls all I like, and it just comes off with water" Danni explained, opening the packet and pulling them out, still making sure that Alex saw everything.

Alex continued to not look, but the temptation was becoming strong and she really wanted to draw now. What felt like hours was less than a minute, and soon Alex had her eyes fixed on the toys, not wanting to look away.

"Bath please," Alex said quietly, making grabby hands at Danni.

"What was that munchkin, I couldn't hear you" Danni replied, crouching down slightly so they were at equal heights.

"Bath p'ease" Alex mumbled, walking over to Danni and hugging her tightly.

Danni was quick to reciprocate the hug, holding onto Alex tightly with one hand running up and down her back.

"I wasn't sure if you would still want little me" Alex whispered, Danni only just hearing it.

"Alex baby" Danni pulled away from the hug so that they could see each other, "we went over the rules and your wants and needs because we want you here for the long run, big and little. Just as you have the right to big time, you also have the right to little time, and Maggie and I are here to support all of you." Danni reassured the quickly-becoming little, pulling her in for another hug.

Danni could feel Alex crying quietly into her shoulder, and her t-shirt becoming damp, but she didn't dare break the hug, only letting go when she felt Alex push away.

"Now munchkin, let's run you a big bubbly bath, and then I think we should give Maggie some payback for waking you up".

A/N: Next chapter will probably be out Thursday(ish) as I don't really have anything else to do and I've got to shield until 18/01 because of new COVID-19 strains.
