A/N: I swear I have some idea of what day it is...I think. Sorry for the late update, but it is here now.

The Christmas holidays start this week so expect more frequent updates for a few weeks!

I had to republish twice because I forgot the end of the chapter...oops!

This time when Alex awoke, it was for definite, no-one was cuddling her and the duvet had been pulled back off her head, leaving her to bask in the late morning sunlight.

"Morning little one" Maggie smiled, putting her book down so Alex could see her properly.

"I thought I was alone," Alex said in a small voice, bunching the duvet up in her hands.

"No bug, we wouldn't leave you alone after last night. Danni is downstairs cooking food for us so I've been sat here reading" Maggie explained quickly.

She removed the duvet from Alex's hands, replacing it with Teggs for one hand, and her own for another.

"You're still safe okay? We haven't left you, and we're not going to."

Alex nodded silently, staring at the woman's soft brown eyes as she could feel herself begin to slip. Unfortunately, as soon as Alex realised what was happening she shook her head and forced herself to stay big, she wasn't sure yet if Danni and Maggie would let her be little again.

"How about we go see how Danni's doing, and I bet she would love a morning hug from you?" Maggie's voice cut through the tension in Alex's head, and Alex was quick to focus on that rather than her thoughts.

"Alright," Alex shrugged. It was already becoming tiring to stay big.

Still, Alex let Maggie hold her hand and lead her downstairs to the kitchen, where Danni was prancing about listening to music.

Alex was hoping that even when she saw Danni she was going to be able to keep her composure, but for some reason, just like last night, seeing the two women made her feel way too secure for that.

"Danni!" Alex called out excitedly, running up to her and hugging her around the waist tightly.

"Hey baby, someone's feeling better today, huh?" Danni said lovingly, reciprocating the hug as best she could considering the height difference.
"I am, thank you both for last night" Alex sniffled.

She buried her head in the woman's t-shirt and tried to wipe her eyes with it so Danni and Maggie didn't know she had been crying. However as Alex had experienced before, the two women were magic, and already knew what was happening.

"Come here little one, let's use a tissue for those tears, not my shirt" Danni smiled, pulling a clean tissue from her pocket and moving Alex so she could wipe away the tears.

"No tears this early munchkin" Danni soothed, wiping away the tears and the carefully cleaning away the tear tracks from the previous night.

"How about you be my kitchen helper? I could really use one and I'm not sure I trust Maggie" Danni asked, trying to lighten up the mood again.

While both women knew that Alex wasn't in her headspace, it was hard not to baby the small girl in front of them, especially when she hadn't made any suggestions for them to stop.

"Okay, I can do that!" Alex giggled, setting Teggs on the dining table carefully before running back to the worktop.

"Excellent, now I'm making a full English breakfast for us, okay, but you need to tell me which foods go in it." Danni thought that setting the girl a straightforward and amusing task would be the easiest, plus it meant she wasn't being anywhere near the hot stove or oven.

"I've got the sausages and the hash browns, I know that they go in, but what about....bananas?" Danni finished her question with a flourish, pointing two bananas at Alex.

The giggles from Alex was something everyone had missed, Maggie standing in the doorway and smiling as she watched her girlfriend bring them out.

"Nooooooo" Alex smiled, batting them away from her.

"Okay okay, how about, baked beans?" Danni asked, balancing a tin of them on her head.

"Yes, yes, yes!" Alex clapped her hands together as Danni kept adding tins to the stack on her head.

"Babe, they're gonna-" Maggie didn't get to finish her sentence before the tins came crashing down on the kitchen floor, without any breaking open thankfully.

Danni was quick to clear up before Alex got hurt or she got grumped at by Maggie, who was already shooting some glares her way. Once they were in the saucepan ready to go on, Danni was back to her antics much to Alex's delight.
"What about...mushrooms?" Danni asked, pulling out a packet from the fridge.

Alex's face quickly turned sour, her bottom lip stuck out as she glared at the packet.

Maggie and Danni had to stifle laughs while Danni put the offending item back into the fridge.

"Alright baby, no mushrooms this time" Danni ruffled Alex's hair as she moves passed her.

"No mushrooms ever, they're disgusting" Alex was now glaring at the fridge like that had insulted her just by harbouring the food.

"I promise you will never get mushrooms then baby" Danni smiled.

The game went on for a little bit longer until there was toast, tomatoes, eggs and bacon added and ready to be cooked. Avocados, chocolate, spinach, window cleaner among others had all been discarded.

Once everything was on or about to be, Maggie pulled Alex away from the kitchen so they could quickly talk about the rest of the day.

"Have I done something wrong?" Alex asked nervously, swaying on her feet and playing with her hands.

"Not at all darling, I just want to let you know what's going to happen after breakfast" Maggie assured her, crouching until they were eye level.

"After breakfast, because this is the first time we've properly seen you big, I'd just like to talk about the living arrangements, house rules, your needs and wants, and the things you like and dislike," Maggie explained.

"Like mushrooms?" Alex perked up a bit.

"Exactly little one, like mushrooms. We want to know more about you and in turn, you get to learn more about me and that goofball I call my girlfriend" Maggie laughed, ruffling Alex's hair just like Danni had done.

"Okay, so nothing bad?" Alex was desperate for some reassurance that despite the fun, she hadn't done anything wrong.

"Nothing bad at all" Maggie ended the conversation there and led Alex back to the kitchen where they found Danni giving her best Beyonce impression.

"Why am I not surprised?" Maggie and Alex giggled together before joining in, all of them attempting the single ladies dance while their food cooked.
