your family, a mystery. you were given up at a young age, taken in by levi ackerman and his fellow comrades who raised you to be strong, the strongest. a prodigy is what you were and a perfect fit for the survey corps once you had turned of age.

you were kind to anyone who deserved it, offering warmth and understanding, but when the situation called for it, you weren't afraid to be harsh and put people in their place. this duality made you both approachable and intimidating when necessary. this is why people admired you. in a time like this, how could someone be so caring and compassionate towards other? yet strong all around.

| THE STORY |

you're tone barely above a whisper you called out, "eren..."

he hummed in response, his eyes fixated on you with an affectionate gaze. even if he didn't mean to, it always seemed like he looked at you as if you were a masterpiece, his eyes studying every detail with awe. you were the most precious to him.

as he waited for you to speak, he shifted closer, gently placing his hand on your shoulder, his touch comforting.

"do you think that one day you might have to make a decision that can affect everything? the people you love and the people who love you?"

"i already have to make those kind of decisions. everyday." he chuckled, easing the tension you were slowing being consumed by, "what i do affects the way people look at me. it determines if i'm worth of their care and feelings, but what they think doesn't matter to me anymore because you decided to care about someone like me so with you, i'll always feel loved."

why did he have to talk to you like that? so sweet. so kind. his tone was always soft, sometimes playful, rarely ever harsh. only when he felt your life was at risk. he was different around you... or maybe he was just being himself.

the way he spoke so genuinely about things only made you feel worse and you couldn't pin it down— was it fear? sadness? whatever it was, his choice of words seemed to make your emotions more complicated.

"that's not what i mean." your tone stern and almost harsh, causing the smile he wore to slightly fade.

since the beginning of the conversation he knew something was wrong. that there was something serious weighing on your mind. he came to this conclusion from the way you never met his gaze and sat still while his placed his arm on your shoulder, almost refusing to lean into his touch.

"with everything that's happened—that's happening. you might be stuck in a position to save one person over everyone else. with our enemies knowing everything they could know about your relationships with people.. with me."  your words cracked as you hugged your knees tightly to your chest, trying to hide your face and the tears that threatened to spill. the feeling of it all was too much and hugging yourself was the only way to keep your emotions from completely exploding.

he crawled over to kneel in front of you, slowly bringing his hand over to your cheek. his thumb brushed against your lower lip before engulfing you into an intense yet passionate kiss. you won't ever be able to perfectly explain the way he kissed you.

it was almost like he was afraid to kiss you.

"(y/n). everything i do is for you. for my friends. for humanity. so you can live a better life. even if that day does happen i'll make sure to love you for every moment. you are my love. always and forever."
