CHAPTER 7 — stay alive
within seconds panic had spread.
people were running from one side of the storage room to another, carrying crates of the gas and others filled with blades.
it didn't take long for everyone atop of wall rose to realize they were no match for the colossal titan. orders came from above and everyone there was to be regrouped at the supply unit and then dispatched to different areas of the town to kill the titans that had infiltrated wall rose.
at the supply unit is where you spotted annie and your legs moved before you could even think. you ran to her, engulfing her in a tight hug and nudging your head in the small space between her neck. "please annie, be careful."
she laughed softly at your choice of words. you were always aware of the fact that annie was by far one of the strongest among the 104th training corps and could easily meet the standards of a pro. "you're the one who's so quick to help someone—think of yourself for once (y/n). come back alive."
this moment didn't last long as you had a mission to carry out and didn't want to keep your team waiting. you pulled away from the hug, offering her a brief smile before waving goodbye.
on your way out you spotted eren and saw how he completely disregarded everything mikasa was saying, smacking her arm away as she attempted to comfort him. it didn't take long for mikasa to leave and for eren to spot you among the crowd.
"(y/n)! i wanted to see you." he said as he ran in your direction. as he opened his mouth to speak, you cut him off, your words spilling out before he had a chance. "—don't make any irrational decisions eren. you promised we'd see the outside world together so i want you to keep that promise. don't die on me," you stared at him while trying to maintain a stern your expression, but despite the intensity of the situation, eren found himself lost in your eyes.
was it a stupid for him to lose focus like that? most likely yes, but there was something about the way you looked at him that made it impossible for him to stay guarded and maintain a strong attitude. he could simply melt away.
