CHAPTER 2
fall of wall maria

when you woke up the following morning, everyone was gone. the plans you had made with rico and hange blown at the window for a reason you couldn't understand.

quickly you got up from bed, running into the mess hall which you found to be empty. you ran back and forth from the supply room to the combat training area, but there was no sign of anyone. now you were forced to break one of the major rules levi had set: no going into town, but there had to be a reason everyone was missing.

from a distance you could see people panicking, yelling gibberish to each other and packing their belongings. curious, you walked up to the closet person you could find.

"excuse me, what's going on?"

the woman turned around, her eyebrows slightly raised and her mouth half-opened. "have you not heard?! wall maria has been breached!" she raised her hands and practically began to pull the hair from her head. "they sent the scouts but what if they lose and the titans come for us next?!"

her words sent people into an even greater panic.

in the end, you ran back to the scout's barracks trying not to get stuck in the crowd of people who were trying to leave even though you've heard nothing about your own walls being breached. there was no sign of titans entering your area because if there were, at least some of the soldiers would've stayed back to fight them.

you hid in the supply room of the soldiers compound, laying against the wall and keeping your eyes glued to the door, praying for someone to walk through. as you sat in silence, your brain pondered one question: how did they breach the wall? there had never been any titan strong enough to even put a crack on the wall.

you sighed, "everyone at wall maria is losing their homes, family—everything." you crossed your arms and placed your head in between them.
