Hello. My name is Annabeth Chase-Grace and I am a high school sophomore. I live in Malibu, California with my dad, Fredrick Chase, my sister Thalia Chase-Grace, my older brother Jason, and my twin five year old brothers Bobby and Matthew Chase-Grace. This is my story on how I somehow started dating my best friend's older stepbrother.

Anyway, it was a regular September Monday morning a week after school started and I was running late. I texted my best friend, Piper McLean, asking her where she was but texted back:

I'm sick today. Can't Jason give you a ride?
I sighed and responded: No he had to go to school an hour ago to go to basketball practice.

ok perce is still here ill send him over

No that's ok. I'll take the bus.

no u won't. i got him coming over there now

Fine.

I got dressed in my ripped jeans and green shirt and grabbed a hair elastic, quickly tied my blonde, curly hair in a high ponytail and walked out the door. I got downstairs to see Bobby and Matthew throwing Cheerios at each other while my dad and sister tried to get them ready for kindergarten. I grabbed a bagel and waved at Thalia as she waved at me and then I got a text from and unknown number.

I'm outside come on.

I looked outside and sure enough, Percy's blue jeep was sitting out front. I ran out and climbed into the passenger seat. I had never really been too close with Percy but we were mutual friends. See, when Piper was a baby, her mom divorced her dad and left so a few years later, Tristan McLean remarried Sally Jackson, a single mom with a toddler from a previous marriage. Now, the two have a five year old daughter named Estelle Jackson- McLean.

"Why hello there Wise Girl," said Percy in an innocent voice.

I rolled my eyes at Percy, "Don't you have a girlfriend to attend to?"

"Me and Cal broke up yesterday," he replied.

"Oh I'm sorry," I said with a change of heart.

"Nah, she's Calypso, the most popular, snobby person in school so it's good I dumped her arse," Percy said.

"Okay well let's get to school shall we?"

He nodded and sped off.

At school Percy parked in the parking lot.

"Hey thanks for the ride," I said, "I have no idea Pipes was sick."

"Eh, she was probably faking it as she asked me if I wanted to go to the beach house later."

"That sounds like Piper."

"It does,"he agreed, "Do you want to come with us to the beach house? Jace's coming," he added.

"Okay," I replied.
