CHAPTER NINE
THEIR ENCOUNTER
WINIFRED ROSE HAD never been happier when Gilbert ended the courtship with her. He was finally going to be with someone he truly loved, and Winifred admired him for it.
If only, she could show everyone how much she loved Cora.. She sighed in disbelief and massaged her temple. However, her morose mindset soon changed to a positive one when she realised that she could finally be with Cora.
Winnie smiled at the realisation and tied her long blonde locks into a bun. She dressed in a baby pink dress with lavish draping and puffed sleeves and impulsively decided to go to Avonlea. She was going to meet Cora.
"One ticket to Avonlea please." She happily said to the station master, and as she was handed her ticket, Winnie hummed a melodious tune.
She sat in the train and soon reached Avonlea, smiling a smile that even the sun could not compare to for the entire ride. Her aqua blue eyes gleamed with imagination of how the day's events would go, and she got off the train hurriedly to get a carriage.
Finally, after about twenty minutes, she reached the Blythes' residence and knocked on the door. The woman who opened it was certainly not Cora Blythe.
"Hello Anne, do you spell it with or without the E?" Winifred asked Anne with a fake politeness.
"With the E, and I'm sorry to say that Gilbert isn't here." Anne said, mocking her polite tone.
"Ah, but he isn't the Blythe that I want to talk to. Is Cora here?" Winifred inquired.
"Yes she is, come on in; I was just leaving anyways." Anne smiled a sincere smile, happy that the object of Cora's affection cared for her as much as she did. Anne left hurriedly and soon Winifred was inside the Blythes' house, all alone. Or so it seemed.
"Anne! Are you downstairs? I need some uhm.. assistance with my dress. It won't button up." A muffled yet loud voice boomed from upstairs.
Winifred froze, not knowing what to say. She cautiously walked upstairs and opened the room to Cora's bedroom.
Cora stood there, her lustrous raven locks tied into a high messy bun. She wore a green dress that matched her emerald eyes, half of it unbuttoned, revealing the smooth, creamy skin on her back. She turned around slowly and her calculative features changed from relaxed to surprised. Her plump, ever so kissable lips curled into smile, revealing her tiny dimples.
"Could you button me up?" She asked innocently, her doe eyes gleaming.
Winifred blushed a shade of red and moved forward, and began buttoning her dress, and every time her fingers occasionally brushed against Cora's skin, it sent chills down the brunette's spine.
"All done." Winifred smiled and Cora turned around, happily returning it. Their bodies were inches apart from each other.
"Why're you here Winnie?" Cora questioned, although she already knew the true answer.
"Gilbert and I have ended the courtship. I'm yours now. And you're mine." Winifred smirked while Cora sighed in happiness.
"Then make me yours." Cora whispered, her warm, peppermint breath making goosebumps appear on Winnie's delicate skin. Cora laced her soft, frail hands with Winifred's and gazed into her eyes, waiting for the response she wanted.
Winnie did not wait any longer and slowly pressed her warm lips to Cora's soft ones, and it was everything she had ever dreamed of. It was like a million butterflies flying in their bodies, soft and elusive yet warm and moist, and the only feeling in the world was their lips attached to each other, moving in a delicate melody: enchanting like the notes of sheet music. Cora tasted like warm honey with a tinge of fresh chocolate, and Winifred was intoxicated by her: she was unreal.
Cora moved her hands to Winifred's silky golden locks and started to twirl her strands. She was bewitched by Winifred's very presence, she was allured, and felt her mind go numb as Winifred stroked her hand tenderly while deepening the kiss.
The pair pulled away at the same time, catching their breath, and softly panting.
Cora moved her hands front Winifred's hair to her sleek waist and started chuckling in disbelief.
"I could get used to this." Cora smirked, her face still red from the kiss.
"Good." Winifred retorted and connected their lips once more, it was pure ecstasy.
When they broke apart, both girls were smiling brightly. "What are we Winnie?" Cora asked softly, while cupping the girl's cheeks.
"We can be anything you want to be Cor." Winifred replied, her aqua eyes twinkling with happiness.
"Miss Winifred Rose, would you like to court me?" Cora asked flirtatiously.
"Miss Cora Blythe, it would be my utmost honour." Winifred replied dramatically.
The girls then burst into laughter as Cora took Winifred's hand and led her outside in the nature, both of them getting lost in each other's presence.
