He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not (GrayLu)

Chapter 18:

One of the council members nodded at us. "Former council member Yajima." He greeted.

Mr. Yajima nodded back. "Current council member Org."

The current member smiled. "What is your reason to suddenly need to meet with us?" He asked.

"If you would, allow these members of Fairy Tail to explain, please."

Org nodded, and Erza stepped up. She explained the situation and that we request the council's protection of the next week or until mating season is over. She ended her argument with, "if the corrupted slayers get ahold of the mates, then they could accidentally kill them during the process. And also kill anyone who's helped the mates."

As she finished, she along with the rest of us looked at the council members. All of them had shocked faces.

The chairman, who's name I think was Gran Doma, recovered first. He nodded. "The council will grant you and Mr. Yajima protection, as well as the Crime Sorciere members and anyone who has helped you." He stated.

Erza and Mr. Yajima bowed at them and said their thanks, and the rest of us followed. We walked out, and the frogs who served the council said that all of us will be staying at the council headquarters, and they will show us our rooms. We nodded and followed them. The frogs led each group to their rooms. Me, Laxus, and Erik would share a room next to Jellal and Meredy. Lucy, Wendy, Lisanna, and Mira would share a room. Levy, Yukino, Kagura, and Erza would share a room. And Kinana, Juvia, and Ultear would share a room. Mr. Yajima was rooming with the slayers, too.

We went to our rooms, and Mr. Yajima called us over.

"I know that you boys are becoming affected. You are able to control it, but you won't for much longer." He said.

Instead of being shocked, we just looked down in shame. I figured he would find out, him being a former council member and all.

He pointed at me. "The blonde haired girl, Miss Lucy I believe, is your mate?" He asked.

I nodded.

He then pointed at Laxus. "Miss Mirajane is yours, without a doubt."

Laxus nodded as well.

He pointed to Erik. "The new one with purple hair, who helps Mirajane at the bar. I do not know her name unfortunately." He said.

"Kinana, I already know that she's my mate." Said Erik.

He nodded. "You must notify Miss Erza about this. You need a plan for when you lose control. Trust me, you WILL lose control." He instructed. We nodded.

Just then Erza came in. "Thank you, but I am already aware. I have a plan, don't worry." She said.

Mr. Yajima nodded. "I assume that part of the plan involves the boys being in a separate group from their mates?" He asked.

Erza smiled and nodded. "Although they did that on their own, that actually is part of my plan." She said.

She said that if she explains the plan now, then the slayers will know how to evade it when they lose control. We agreed, glad that she at least has a plan.

She suggested we sleep, because apparently we looked as though we needed it, which I certainly did, and left. We finally didn't have to take shifts when we and the others slept. I was going to enjoy this night while it lasts.

Lucy's POV:

We walked into our designated rooms. I was sharing one with Wendy, Lis, and Mira. Our room had white walls with a gold trimming. It kind of reminded me of my celestial magic, actually. There were four beds. I took the one with gold sheets, Wendy took the blue sheeted bed, Lisanna took the purple, and Mira took the black. I laid down on the bed, and for the first time in two weeks, I felt relief. The fear of Natsu or the other slayers getting their hands on us scared me. And now I know that he is coming for me instead of Lisanna.

I felt guilty. She loves Natsu, and I don't. Yet Natsu wants me to be his mate. I feel like I betrayed her. I sat up and looked at the others. They were getting settled in. I got up and walked over to Lisanna, who was sitting down on the bed. I sat down next to her, and she opened her eyes. I looked down, not wanting to look her in the eyes.

"Lis I- " I started.

"No Lu. It's not your fault. You can't control what Natsu says or does." She interrupted.

"B-But you love him. Doesn't this hurt you? Or make you mad at me?" I asked.

She smiled and shook her head. "Why would I be mad over something you can't control. Mira was right. He's only hurt me. And my friend, for that matter. I don't love him anymore. I realize that now. It hurts, but not as much as you would think." She said.

I found her voice comforting. She hugged me and I let her. I smiled softly, knowing that I hadn't done anything to risk our friendship after all. She was right. This was something I had no control over.

"I will help protect you from Natsu. So will everyone else. He's a demon, literally, and as your family, we care for you and your wellbeing."

"Right now, him and the other corrupted slayers are our enemies. We may not like it, but it's true. And you know what Fairy Tail does to it's enemies?" Mira asked.

"We defeat them!" Wendy says, excitedly.

I laughed. "Yes Wendy, we defeat them."

"And then we feast on strawberry cake!" Yelled a certain scarlet haired women who had just come in.

Mira sweat dropped. "Erza that's only something you would do."

"Meh." She shrugged. "More for me then."

She walked out and began checking up on everyone else. I heard that she will be checking in on everyone twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night. She shouted for us to get some sleep before going into the next room, and we walked to our beds and did just that.
