He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not (GrayLu)

Chapter 8:

Mating season. The time where Dragon and Devil slayers claim their mate, whether by will or force.

It made perfect sense. Mira and Laxus, Levy and Gajeel, Sting and Yukino, Rogue and Kagura, Erik and Kinana, but wait, what about Natsu, Gray, and Wendy? Where exactly are Natsu and Gray? And why are me, Lisanna, Romeo, and Juvia here? I asked exactly that.

Lisanna looked upset. She looked down and said, "Lucy, I-I'm dating N-Natsu. I'm sorry, I know you love him, but I love him too." I didn't feel betrayed, actually, I felt kind of relieved. I think that I thought I loved Natsu, because he was like a brother to me, and he brought me to the guild in the first place. I think I love Gray, anyways. I have thought about it before, and have definitely daydreamed of us on a date, but I always convinced myself that it was just a hangout.

I told Lisanna this, minus the whole daydreaming part. She looked relieved. Mira on the other hand looked excited. "New ship! GrayLu!" I blushed madly and hid my face. I honestly thought she would be mad but she said that since Natsu was being mean to me, she hasn't shipped us since. She also says that she doesn't approve of Lisanna dating him either but she will support her anyway.

I then remembered where we were. I turned to master and asked why we were here. "Well," he said, "Since Laxus, Gajeel, and Natsu are dragonslayers and Gray is a devilslayer, their mates are in danger if they don't want to be marked right away, which they don't. I know this because I've looked into the mates' hearts and have seen it. We decided that we will protect the other guilds' mates as well. That's why Yukino and Kagura are here. Erik will probably be coming for Kinana too, and Juvia is here to help you guys. Lisanna is most likely Natsu's mate, so that's why she is here."

What about me, Master?" I asked. He jumped off of his desk that he was standing on, and walked up to me.

"There is a chance that Natsu will think that you are his mate, since he used to love you, so we need to protect you too. I have yet to locate Gray's mate, but I know for sure that Juvia is not her, so she will be safe while protecting you girls. Erza will also come along to help her, as will Jellal, since he doesn't want her to get hurt, and he's been reading up on mating seasons and has possibly found information that might help us." He said.

(Insert Mira fangirling when she heard what Jellal said 😂)

Mira also informed us to pack enough supplies, like clothes, brushes, makeup, etc to last us a few weeks, since apparently we are going to a base that only master, first master Mavis, Mira, and Doranbolt know of. We leave tonight and are supposed to meet Jellal at the front of the train station, because the mating season starts tomorrow.

"Master? Shouldn't Wendy also be affected by this mating season? Why is she coming?" Kinana asked. Wait, she's right. Wendy is a dragonslayer so she should be acting crazy tomorrow too.

Wendy stepped up. "I'm younger than the others, and since I'm too young to have any symptoms of it, I will be your third protector for the next few weeks. Lucy-san, by the way, Natsu has already shown symptoms of mating season, and he started to search for you. That's why Levy-san and I were so panicked and came to get you to bring you here. I put something down to make sure he can't find the entrance to the passage. His symptoms aren't very strong right now so he will give up easily, but that will end tomorrow. That's also why we think you're a possible mate."

Master continued on in her place. "We are not exactly sure if Natsu will come for both you and Lisanna, or if he will come for only one of you. That's why we need to protect you both. Also, since we have confirmed that Romeo is Wendy's mate, he will be sent to another base with his father, just to make sure that he is safe if Wendy actually does get affected."

Wendy turned red at the sound of her mate's name. I have to admit, it was extremely cute, and it suits Wendy that Romeo is her mate. Oh god I'm turning into Mira.

I hope I didn't say that out loud.

Doranbolt suddenly appeared saying that he will teleport everyone to there homes to get ready, then they will all meet at my place to head to the train station. He said it was best to not teleport because 15 people appearing out of nowhere will attract too much unwanted attention.

Doranbolt teleported each of us home, three at a time. I heard that he has been working on his magic, but teleporting 3 people to different places at once is amazing! I packed everything I needed, including my novel because it's a need, not a want, and waited for him and the others to appear. I'm still upset that he told everyone to meet at MY house without my permission, but it's Fairy Tail, what do you expect. Also I live the closest to the train station, considering almost everyone lives at Fairy Hills.

I sat in my chair in front of my desk and closed my eyes, wondering how long it would take and what I should do to pass time. Apparently during the few seconds I closed my eyes, Doranbolt appeared with Erza and Levy to drop them off. That scarlet haired monster scared the crap out of me by yelling at me for slouching in my chair. Come on, slouching is better then falling off. Which unfortunately I did do, but not the point.

Levy laughed, apologized along with Erza, and waited for the others with me. I wouldn't dare close my eyes again after that experience.
