He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not (GrayLu)

Chapter 1:

Lucy's POV:

I was on my way to the guild, a shimmer of hope in my eyes. Hope that Natsu would talk to me, and that he wouldn't spend all of his time without me. He is always with Lisanna, and it made me upset that he forgot about me. I don't hate her though, she's actually really nice. Apparently her, Levy, Juvia, Wendy and I were good friends in Edolas, and she always helped Wendy break up the fight with Levy and I. Apparently in the short couple weeks she came back, Levy passed on her love of reading to Lisanna, so now the 3 of us hang out in the library or at my apartment to talk about books and read. Why is it always my apartment though?!

I walked into the guild hall and saw the usual. Gray and Natsu fighting, Mira at the bar with Cana and Guildarts, and the girls at our table. I walked over and was greeted. "Hi Lucy/Lu-chan/Lucy-san/Love Rival!"

I sweat dropped at Juvia's greeting. "Hey guys."

I sat down next to Erza and Lisanna. "Hey Lis, how's Natsu?" The others looked over at us.

Lisanna's POV:

I was afraid of this question. The others looked over at us, with looks of sadness and pity that Lucy couldn't see because her back was turned.

"Um, well...." I took a deep breath. "Normal, sorry." She looked disappointed. "Oh.. okay."

I hate how she reacted. How could Natsu do this to a fellow nakama. I know Lucy loves him, which makes it worse. I mean, I love him too but no girl should feel like this. They should at least be friends.

Natsu came over behind her. Bad timing you idiot. At first I thought he was going to apologize to her and they would be friends, but I was wrong once again. "Hey Lis, wanna go on a job with Team Natsu?" He gave me his signature goofy smile. Lucy looked up excitedly.

She hasn't been on a job in a while, I don't wanna go, mainly because of Natsu, but she looks so excited. I should say yes.

"Yeah sure! Come on Lucy, Wendy, and Erza! Let's go!"

Lucy's POV:

Finally, I've been wanting to go on a job with Natsu and the others for a while! Maybe if I do good on this mission then Natsu will want to talk to me again!

We got up and left. Natsu and Happy had already picked out a job and confirmed it with Mira. It was in Clover, so we had to take the train, which Natsu was not happy about. Wendy used her troia spell. He went from his queasy state of laying out the window to his normal hyper self. "I'm alive and fired up!" Me, Lis, and Wendy laughed. Gray said some insult to him and they started fighting, then Erza smashed their heads together and they apologized.

"Stop fighting all of the time you idiots! This is how we destroy what we are supposed to save everytime we go on a mission! Be more responsible!"

Aaand there goes another lecture from her.

"A-aye sir." They've done it now. And what's with the Happy impressions?

She gave them her famous death stare. They panicked. "W-we mean Ma'am! Totally said ma'am!"

She scoffed, mumbling what morons they are. It felt normal, and I was glad it did.

Natsu then explained the plan on how to do the mission.

Erza's POV:

Natsu explained his plan, and I have to admit it's good. But there is one problem. Lucy is supposed to be the decoy.

Natsu's POV:

I explained my awesome plan to everyone. The mission was supposed to be to capture rogue mages that have been using their magic against the townspeople in Clover. Gray, me, and Erza would be the attack team. Wendy would be the support, Lis would protect Wendy, and Lucy would be the decoy.

They all seemed a bit upset that Lucy was the decoy, but I didn't see what was wrong with it. It's the perfect job for her. It's not like she'd be helpful to the attack team, and she would only get in Lisanna's way if she tried helping her protect Wendy. Lucy seemed reluctant, so I did the only thing I could think of. "Come on Luce, please?" This will convince her.
