You didn't get much sleep, but that was normal, because of your insomnia and nightmares. You were used to operating on the constant brink of collapsing from exhaustion and malnutrition. On your way to the train you stopped at a ATM and deposited half of your pay into your bank account. You had learned to always save up money, just in case something went wrong and you had to leave. You avoided a few muggers and made your way to the station. Sometimes, when you were bored, you let muggers try to rob you.
You rewarded yourself with a coffee and pastry. You sipped your highly caffeinated coffee, and got on the train, barely making it to school on time. You rushed into the classroom and made it seconds before Aizawa sensei. You gulped the rest of your coffee and plopped your head on the desk, in an attempt to nap.
"I AM HERE, ENTERING LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"
You jolted awake. The noise shook away any excess sleepiness and traded it with a pounding headache. He was so loud. You could barely comprehend what he was saying over the thumping in your head. All Might was here? You didn't dislike All Might, but you weren't particularly fond of him. You could tell half of his act was fake. He was saying something about hero costumes.
Yours was in a metal box marked 21. You proceeded to the restroom again to change, however this time, you weren't the last one out. Everyone was admiring there hero costumes.
You costume was a simple black jumpsuit, which wasn't loose enough for someone to grab onto but it wasn't tight enough to limit your movement. It covered all your scars, including the ones on your neck. It was some special cloth that was bulletproof, knife proof, and regulated your body temperature. It had metal utility belt and a few metal pieces along the shoulders, arms, and legs. For "aesthetic purposes" they said. You wore a mask covering half of your face and combat boots made of the same, lightweight metal. You had asked for as many hidden daggers as possible but for "safety purposes" they refused. And then there was the part you were most excited about, it was the blood red scarf. The color matched your eyes when your quirk was being used perfectly. Somehow, they had gotten it to emulate a brain, so with some practice, you would be able to control it.
You were playing with the crimson cloth while All Might was explaining the rules. Basically villains had to protect a bomb while the hero's had to try to stop it. It didn't sound to complicated. Fighting was your specialty, and you were amazing at it.
He announced all the pairings. You listened for your name, but it was never announced. Lazily, but formally, you announced, "Excuse me sir, you didn't announce my name."
"Ahh, young L/n, I apologize. You can be on the hero team! Would anyone like to go against or team up with her?"
Cooly you stated, "I can be alone." You were confidant in your abilities. You might get a headache from it, but you could just knock everyone out or cancel there quirk, no matter how many people. Even if you weren't that muscular, you were quick, had good endurance, and lots of experience. You could beat most people on a fight.
"I'll go against her." A monotone voice clearly stated. That peppermint boy? That ice trick he did was cool, but he relied on his quirk too much.
Not long after, a calm, upbeat voice said, "Me too!" It was that ponytail girl who tried to talk too you. Didn't both these people get recommendations?
"That might be a bit too much for young "L/n, what if—"
You promptly cut him off. "I'll do it." You didn't even wait for his reply as you walked out of the monitor room and into the training ground. You really didn't like people doubting you. As you prepared for the upcoming battle, with a slight devilish grin, only one thought was crossing your mind.
'This is gonna be fun.'
