Shota Aizawa just wanted to take a nap. After being coaxed by his husband, Hizashi, he reluctantly got out of bed and went to work.
You weren't really paying attention, but when everyone else started to get up, you did as well. Something about a quirk assessment test. You signed, why did it matter, you would probably get expelled anyway.
While everyone was taking a uniform from the box he previously presented, you asked Aizawa if you could wear the winter uniform.
Oh right, that kid. Nezu had informed him about her. He had asked him to be a little more lenient with his class this year, but especially her. She had a mental quirk, and got into the hero course on some scholarship. He didn't have enough resolve to do more than glance at her file, but it was thick. Multiple pages longer than anyone's file should be. He was all to aware of the discrimination against mental quirks, so he doubted that she actually did most of the misdemeanors she was charged with.
He didn't understand why anyone would wear that in this weather, nevertheless, he pulled out the winter uniform from under the podium. "Here." Was all he roughly stated.
You changed in the bathroom instead of the locker room, not wanting to explain your scars. In fact, you had more scars than the average pro hero. You wondered if that was a good or bad thing.
Once you were finished changing, you proceeded outside. You were the last one out, and you arrived just as Aizawa sensei said that whoever got last place on this test would be expelled.
'Oh great. I'm were fucked. At least I'll get expelled sooner rather than later.'
Much like the entrance exam, because your quirk was mental you couldn't really do anything other than boost your adrenaline and slow down other people. You were stronger than average however, you weren't exceptionally strong. But because of your quirk and combat experience, you were practically unbeatably in fights.
Still, you were mentally preparing to be expelled.
You completed all the test using your quirk to slightly enhance your strength and slow the others around you.
For grip strength you got 34 kg.
For the 50 meter dash you got 7 seconds. Aizawa sensei said anything, right? You put those racing against you to sleep.
For the long jump you got 6 feet.
For the ball throw you got 90 meters.
Through the rest of the test, you continued to attain average scores by using your quirk. You weren't paying attention the rest of the time. Your focus was one dissipating the upcoming side effects of your quirk. You just needed to focus on regulating your brain until the end of the day, and everything would be fine.
Once everyone was finished, the results were projected. You hardly noticed, because of your pounding headache. You really needed to get away from all those people.
You placed 18th, right after weird ears and before invisible girl. You honestly didn't care enough to learn there names. Broccoli boy was last. Well better him than you. You let out a sigh of relief. At least you wouldn't be the first one expelled.
Right when said boy looked like his soul was about to leave this earth, Aizawa sensei spoke up.
"Oh yeah, no ones expelled. That was just a logical ruse so you all did your best"
Almost everyone started to make a fuss about his unusually teaching methods, but you just wanted to leave.
The ravenette that approached you earlier started saying something about how she knew all along, making everyone think she was quite smart. You, however, could tell that he wasn't lying when he said he would expel on of us. His prefrontal cortex didn't have any extra electrical stimulation. However you wanted to avoid confrontation, so you avoided saying anything about it.
On that note, you tried to exit the training grounds without anyone noticing, however your attempt failed. Yaoyorozu wrapped an arm around you, stopping your futile attempt to avoid any and all social interaction.
"What do you want?"
"Hello L/n-chan!" She responded cheerily.
Deciding that there was no way to escape you continued the conversation.
"Congrats in first place."
She was thrilled that her attempts to start a conversation finally were making headway.
"You too, even though you only got 18th place. You have a mental quirk right? Your smart, you used your quirk well."
You could tell that she meant no offense so you eased up a bit, released some tension from your shoulders, and lightened your tone.
"Thanks"
