-Entrance exam-
You were scratching the palms of your hands in a attempt to calm you nerves. It was a bad habit of yours, but the pain usually brought you back to the present and kept you from panicking. It wasn't working. Unfortunately, the anxiety was coursing through you veins faster than the endorphins were.
You weren't entirely listening when they were explaining the physical portion of the exam. It was something about robots.
You were fucked.
Your quirk wasn't physical, nor was it offensive. This test was very much at your disadvantage. The most you could do was boost your adrenaline and cut off your fear. You weren't in bad shape, and you could hold your own in hand to hand combat, so maybe it wasn't that bad. You just had to figure out where the control panel was and target those areas. Yeah, that was a okay plan, right?
The huge doors started to open, which declared the official start of the UA entrance exam. Well, there was no more time to think now. You started to see the other applicants run inside, so you followed in suit and ran in as well.
Soon, you encountered your first opponent. It was a one pointer, so it would give you one point. If you destroyed it, that is. You spotted the control panel behind the head. You lunged at it, yanked out the dagger in your boot and forced it open. You shoved your hand in the circuit inside and ripped out the wires.
You repeated this motion a few times. By now you had massed a few point. You took down a few one pointers and even one two pointer. 'That's 6 points, I think.' Even though you only took down a few robots, you were already exhausted. The adrenaline was wearing off quickly. You boosted your brain with another shot of adrenaline and kept going. 'This isn't enough.' You took down robot after robot, until the announcer said there was only ten minutes left.
A loud rumbling began to overtake your senses. You looked ahead and saw a colossal robot. So this was the so called zero pointer. Everyone near you started to run away, but you just stayed still. Your eyes were focused on the girl in front of you. Her jet black hair was stuck to her face, with blood and sweat. She had some sort of purple force field around her, protecting her from the rubble, but it wouldn't stay up for much longer.
You started running toward the robot. You tried to stop, but your legs were moving on their own. At this point, the chemicals were taking over, a mixture of adrenaline and endorphins.
This wasn't logical. There was no way that you would be able to take down this robot. 'It's official. I'm insane.'
You used your momentum and rushed up the side of the robot. Once you were about halfway up the leg of the robot you shoved your dagger into the cold metal that created the shell of the robot. You pushed yourself up again, sliding the dagger out of the crevice it created, and repeated this motion a few times, until you were eventually halfway up the the robot's frame. You were glad you turned your pain receptors off at the start of the exam. You abandoned the dagger you previously held, and clawed on to every nick, dent, and crevice the frame of the robot held. 'Just like scaling a building.' You nails had been shredded and your hands were coated in blood, but you ignored that and continued on. You reached the top of the robot, with a practiced focus and speed that one could only attain with years of practice. You wrenched another dagger out of your other boot and pried the panel open. After desperately slashing at the wires the control panel contained you finally felt the robot ease up. You slowly fell, along with the robot. The world was going black, and while you were slipping in and out of consciousness only one though went through your head, a thought that you had far too many times today.
'Fuck'
