Emma's P.O.V.
I was staring right at Jax. He noticed but only squirmed in my dark and heavy gaze.
"That's great, right Emma?" Daniel asked. I zoned out and he looked at me then, frowned.
"Did you hear what I said?" I shook my head.
"I asked isn't it great that Jax has a girlfriend?" Daniel asked again. I could only nod, my face devoid of any emotion.
"We could double date or something!" Daniel exclaimed.
Double date. Oh, yea I remember the last time we double dated when Jax and I..
"Yea, that would be," I searched to find the proper word,"..nice. It would be nice."
Daniel enthusiastically nodded and grinned.
"Daniel, I'm coming right back. I need to powder my nose." I said and Daniel laughed.
"Yea okay, 'powder your nose'." Daniel laughed once again. I rolled my eyes and playfully smacked him on the arm just before I walked out of the cafeteria.
Then, I saw a certain someone leaning against the wall.
"Emma?" He looked equally surprised as I did. Just hearing my name from his mouth made me squirm.
I hurriedly took a few steps back and was about to turn around.
His hand, however, wrapped around my wrist preventing me from going anywhere.
"Emma, don't run away." His voice was desperate and I complied.
"I won't run away." I turned around and once I saw the happy look on his face, I couldn't help but give him a small smile.
"Thank you." Jax said, releasing his grip from my wrist. I gave him a small nod.

For a few minutes, we were quiet. I liked the silence between us, surprisingly but I still felt this weird kind of tension in the air. We were just standing by the lockers.
"You have a girlfriend." I blurted out of nowhere. Jax laughed slightly.
"Yes, I do." His voice sounded a little strained.
"Mia, right?" I asked.
"Yea.." Jax answered.
"How is she?" I blurted once again.
"She's nice..and pretty." Jax took a look at my irritated expression.
"And she's kind and smart and -- "
"And wonderful! And fantastic! And the best girlfriend you could ever ask for!" I continued for him, sarcastically.
"Geez, just forget I even asked." I muttered under my breath.
Jax got a big laugh and once his laughter died down he asked,"Is Emma Alonso jealous?"
"No!" My cheeks were for sure red. "I have Daniel," I quietly added.
Jax's smile disappeared as he pressed his lips together in a firm line.
"Right, you have Daniel." He spat out. I nodded.
"Emma! There you are!" Daniel exclaimed and my head whipped in the other direction.
"Daniel?"
"Yep, the one and only. And I guess you're done powdering your nose?" Daniel went into another laughing fit once he said the magical keywords.
"He's crazy," Jax whispered behind me.
"Yea, I'm done." I walked over to Daniel who stopped laughing, finally.
"Hey Jax!" Daniel greeted Jax.
Jax gave a bitter smile in return.
"Hey, I think we should double-date some time! You with your girl and me with mine." Daniel wrapped his arm around my waist and brought me closer to him.
I could see Jax's jaw clenched and after a few seconds, release.
"Actually, that would be great." I heard an unfamiliar voice say.
Daniel and I turned around to find Mia.
She smiled at us (well mostly Daniel) and walked over to Jax.
"Isn't that right, Jax?" She got on her toes and planted a kiss on his cheek.
"Why not tonight? At the Seven? At seven?" Mia asked and before I could even answer, Daniel went ahead and said yes.
"Perfect." Mia said, clapping her hands.
Yea, just perfect.
