Emma's P.O.V
Today sucked, like really sucked but I don't know why I am getting so upset about it, I mean its not as if I actually like Jax. I have no idea, but I know that the sight of seeing Jax and E together made me sick.
Finally, I arrived home only to find Jax waiting on my front door. What?
"Hey, Emma. Where were you? I was looking for you after eigth period but you weren't at school. Is everything alright?" he asked with worry, a gace almost forgiving but I wasn't ready for that.
"Yea, I am fine but why would you care? Aren't you busy with E?" I snapped, annoyed. I shoved him out of the way and attempted to open the door until he grasped my wrists. He pushed me against the door and he was only a few inches away from me.
"Nope, not at all. Not busy with her. But you seem to care a lot about that," he said, one eyebrow raised. "Yea, she almost took over my life. Obviously I care" I said half lying. Its true she almost took over my life but it's also because I hated seeing Jax and E together.
"Whatever you say. You know I really like you, Emma" he said, obviously catching my half-lie but I didn't see that last part coming. He let go of his grasp on my hands and I could finally hear my heartbeat be normal again.
"I need to go, but I'll catch up with you later Emma" Jax said and I nodded. Well awkward much?
As he turned away, I could see a figure walk closer to him. It was E. She bumped into him and "accidentally fell" leaving Jax to catching her in his arms. I can't..don't even have the words for what I am seeing. She holds his shoulder for support and thanks him. I glare at her and get caught by her as well.
She approaches me, saying "Oh, Emma, nice to see you here!"
"Yea, I know it's my house, where else would you expect me to be?" I sharply replied.
"Oh, right" blatantly ignoring my sort-if rhetorical question at the end.
"Well, I guess I have got to get going. Can't keep Jax waiting" she said and my eyes searched for him, seeing him fiddle around with his keys. What, they're hanging out?
"What? You are hanging out with Jax, now?" I asked, hoping for a no. She nodded, slyly.
"Oh, he didn't tell you? Jax!" she called him. Tell me what? He came towards us.
"Yea?" he asked, not knowing what is going on.
"You didn't tell Emma that we were going to the movies after school? C'mon you should have told her about our date" she turned to Jax. He shook his head. Date? To think I was actually fallling for him. He knew how much I hated her. He even asked me out to a date before, but I guess I wasn't "fun" enough for him to hang around with. I thought he liked me, he even--it was all a lie. A lie.
"I actually didn't get the chance to say--" I cut him.
"Say that you needed to go to the movies with E? Well, don't worry it's not needed. I already found out, myself," I can feel the tear drop form around the corner of my eye.
I quickly opened the door and shoved myself inside before Jax could say anything. I heard him say my name and pound on the door. I kept my tears inside and Jax outside.
"It's okay, Jax. C'mon, you've got me, right?" E said to him.
"You're Emma, but not the one that I want" and thats all I heard him say until he marched out of the entrance. That made me happy and cringe at the same time.
I wasn't ready for this drama. I am not going there. If he actually didn't like me, then why did he say that he did? He even made plans to go on a date with E! I never even realized my intense feelings for him until now. I really liked him, but it was only a one way thing. He doesn't have to like me, and I don't have to like him.
Goodbye Jax Novoa, goodbye.
