#27:Because We Are Humans

Roger Mansion

Airi saw someone getting out from her mother's room. It's another young man. Their eyes met and Airi released an intimidating look at him.

Airi heard the opening of the door. As she raised her head, disgusted look welcomed her. "Go and wash yourself right away. Your father's friend will visit us tonight", her mother said then looked away unwilling to stare further into her daughter's face.

Airi didn't say a word but just walked straight to her room. Before opening the door, someone called her attention. "Young lady, Sir Eustass is also here to visit you. He's having a conversation with your mother. And also-", the maid stopped. Airi looked at her face and it was all brightened. "He brought someone else", the maid's word gave a loud thump on her chest.

Receiving Hall

The maid prepared all sorts of snacks for the two. Rarely does Airi bring someone in their house. For some reason, the middle aged woman found their company amusing.

"Isobe Kisa, that's my name", she introduced herself. "Oh, I am Eustass Kid and with me is...", Kid was interrupted by the woman,"Trafalgar Law", Kisa made a smirk as soon as she saw him flinch. "What a small world", Kisa had a short laugh. "You already knew each other", Kid furrowed his brow feeling jealous that Trafalgar seems to be ahead of him. "I guess you are already free to roam around thanks to that man", Kisa had a wry smile. Kid became more cautious. If they knew each other from beyond the surface, he could gather more information.

"Then, why are you getting closer to my daughter? Is that Doflamingo's new mission? I thought he is focusing on Riku's granddaughter. In that way, he'll get a better grasp on the nation's police power", Kisa hummed. Trafalgar clenched his fist. "I am not here to discuss that matter. I am merely someone dragged by this idiot to visit your daughter", Trafalgar looked away. "Is that so?", Kisa chuckled. "How much does she know?", Trafalgar asked in a rather soft manner. Kisa leaned on her palm. "Who knows? That sly rat has her own way of figuring things out. And, she will not stop until something is done with it. That's what I fear about her",Kisa saw someone entering the scene.

"Make sure you'll act properly", Kisa stood up and left the hall.

Trafalgar turned to see Airi wearing a knee high red dress. "Oh, not bad young lamb. I will no longer call you lamb. You'd be Missy", Kid laughed nervously thinking of the previous conversation. Why does Kisa know about Trafalgar and Doflamingo.

Since Airi was wearing high heel, she looked more mature than usual and her nicely done hair added to her intimidating look. Kid seems to erase unnecessary thoughts and just focused on the masterpiece in front of her.

"What brought you here? Sensei, Eustass-san?", she asked as she stepped forward. "Actually, I'm going to invite you to my promotion night", Kid said right away. "You could have just mailed me", Airi sighed. "I also wanted to see you. It's been a while", Kid scratched his nape. Trafalgar sighed in annoyance

Kid, who was always hot headed, has his tail wagging over a woman who he found dull and idiotic. "I'll be on the balcony", Trafalgar informed.

He walked towards the balcony and saw the sun already setting. It was a good sight. Growing up, he didn't have the luxury of time to stare beyond the horizon. He tried to keep up with the changing color but the changes doesn't seem to stuck in his mind. They are rapid. They are unpredictable.

"Agh!!!", Kid stared at his phone. "I need to go somewhere!!!", Kid grabbed on the car keys and apologized to Airi. Trafalgar was about to reach out to him when the red head already disappeared. "That's my car, idiot", Trafalgar said with irritation. "I could ask a chauffeur to bring you home. Why don't you stay for supper?", Airi asked.
