I finally made it all the way up to where Teresa was. She was still looking out into the distance.

"Hey, you okay? What're you doing up here?" I asked.

"Just thinking." She answered, not turning to look at me.

"Oh, alright. I'll let you be alone." I said, starting to back away.

I didn't get far, because she spoke up again, turning around to face me, "Do you remember your mother?" She questioned.

I walked a little back towards her, "Uh," I paused, "I think so."

She was now facing me completely, "I remember mine. She was a beautiful woman. Everybody loved her. And before Wicked, she was all I had. When she got sick, I didn't know. I just kept her locked up and hidden. I thought she'd get better." She explained.

I just stood there, listening to her, while tears started welling up in her eyes.

"Every night, she'd make these awful sounds, like screaming. And then, one night, she just stopped. She was finally quiet. I went down to her room, and there was blood everywhere. But she just sat there, calm. She said she was feeling better. The visions were gone. She'd taken care of them," she took a deep breath, "She took her eyes out, Y/n." She finished.

I looked at her with a small frown. I hardly remember my mom. The only dream I had of her was back in the helicopter. Gally and I were little kids, and we were taken away from her.

"There are millions of people suffering out there. Millions of stories, just like mine. We can't turn our backs on them. I won't." She said.

There was a silence between us, before I spoke up, "W-what are you saying?" I stuttered.

"I'm saying, I want you to understand."

"Understand what?"

"Why I did it."

In the distance, I saw lights, and I could hear an engine. I looked closer, and saw that it was an aircraft, coming our way. Teresa. She called them. She called Wicked. She betrayed us.

"Teresa." I muttered, starting to back away.

"Please don't fight them, Y/n." She pleaded, tears in her eyes.

"What have you done?" I muttered again before running down to the campsite.

I can't believe it. Teresa, she betrayed us. Betrayed me. I kept running down the cliff, trying to find Newt and the others. All of a sudden, a Wicked helicopter flew over the campsite, and started shooting. A missile blew right into the camp, causing it to light on fire.

I kept running, looking for the others. Finally, in the distance, I could see Newt, Minho, and Frypan around a truck, shooting at the Wicked guards. I sprinted to them, avoiding being seen or shot by anyone. I put my eyes back onto the three boys, and caught Newt's eye.

He ran to me, pulling me into a tight hug, squeezing me till I couldn't breathe. He pulled away, grabbing my cheeks before pulling me into a deep kiss. I put my hands on his chest, our lips moving in sync.

He was gripping my face tightly, but not too tight so it wouldn't hurt me. Our lips continued moving together, ignoring everything around us, till we both needed to catch some air. We pulled away at the same time, panting while our foreheads leant against each other.

"I was afraid something happened to you." He whispered quietly, but I could hear him. I gave him a small smile before kissing him once more, his hands still cupping my cheeks, caressing them. We both pulled away again before going back to the fight.
