Chapter 33 - Allison

I feel like I don't want to go to the office. Not because it's Monday. Last week a lot of my coworkers whispered behind my back after I came back from the epic failed Roderick presentation.

And I feel like a bitch for thinking that there must be someone who fucked with the presentation. My mind goes to Nina and Lola. I don't want to put Lola, really. Because she is my friend and she said she is fine. But I couldn't help lately after the failed presentation, she acted extra gleeful. Like she is so happy. Today if she still has that mood, I'm going to ask her. Hopefully there is a great answer for that.

As for Nina, God knows she hates me to the root.

I walk in the building. Jackson is standing there waiting for the elevator.

"Morning Jackson" I say to him.

He smiles "hey Al!" He laughs. "Hey Al, hey y'all"

I chuckle despite my mood "thanks for making me smile" I say.

"Everything will be alright. Don't listen to them. Put your earphones on!" He caresses my shoulders in a friendly gesture.

"Thanks" I say. The elevator is open and we are all get inside. Some coworkers staring at me like.. I don't know. They are trying to find something in me.

I just look at the numbers of the floor. Hurry up!

Once we arrived on our floor, I stepped out as fast as I could.

Jackson chuckles "chill Al. Just ignore them"

"I know" I sigh. "We are very opposite today. My mood and yours" I say.

He chuckles "well, last week we want to tell you, but you were too busy mourning with the presentation"

I roll my eyes.

He looks around. "Lola"

Lola looks at Jackson and smiles. Wait a minute!? What is with that twinkles in her eyes when she sees Jackson?

Jackson pulls her waist and Lola giggles.

"Don't tell me..."

"Yes we are in a relationship" Jackson says and Lola giggles.

"Oh my God! Congrats!" I hug them "I didn't see this coming!"

"We were so secretive. Just in case things don't work" Lola shrugs.

"How long have you two been dating?"

"A month," Jackson says. "I was planning to wait for another month to be sure. But she was so upset a week ago. So I took her to her favorite restaurant. Um.. one thing led to another"

Lola's face blush.

"Okay I don't need to know the details. Congrats!!"

"Thanks Alli" Lola says with a grin. "We feel bad because we were so happy while you were so upset. I was upset we failed in the Roderick project, but.. not even the failure can gloom my mood for now" she giggles shyly.

I smile at their happy faces, and relieve because now I know the reason for her cheery mood. "I hope you two can work it out!"

"We hope so" Jackson kisses Lola's head.

I smile at the new couple. So sweet.

I was in the cafeteria to retrieve some noon snacks when 2 coworkers whispered in the corner, their eyes on me. Enough with this!

"Hey" I smile

They startle. Yes girls, I'm not a typical girl you can bully in the school. Surprise, I'm a very vocal person if you pressure me.
