"They are crazy", Namjoon declares to no one but himself, removing his shoes and throwing them on the rack carelessly. He really can't bring himself to be bothered about his shoes of all things right now.

He slags on the couch, sighing heavily. Seokjin did let him off the hook for now. True. But that does not mean he won't send people to keep an eye on him. Namjoon knows his brother more than anyone. He's not going to give up so easily. Especially when it comes to him.

It's endearing most days but right now, it's just annoying the hell out of him. Namjoon really can't believe he has to live like a prisoner until whatever threat Seokjin was talking about is no longer powerful enough to harm him.

"What do I do...", he mutters out loud. Just as he picks up the TV remote from the coffee table, his phone rings. He groans loudly. It better not be anyone from his damned family.

He's already upset about having to live alone for the time being. Without Hoseok, that is. He really doesn't want his fucked up brothers and brothers in law to ruin his day more than they already have.

"What is it?", he barks out without even checking the caller ID. Which is why it's no surprise when his whole face turns red and he's frantically apologizing into the phone. "Dr. Choi! I'm sorry. I had no idea it was you. Yeah, I didn't check the caller ID. A salesman was annoying me", he lies swiftly.

"Yeah? Oh, right. Dr. Jung won't come to the Hospital in a few... weeks, I guess. We can make do without him, right? I've already asked for a substitute. Yeah, he'll be coming tomorrow. From Apollo, yes", he sighs again, thanking her for calling before hanging up.

"Damn you, Hob-ah", he curses under his breath, though knowing it's not his best friend's fault for loving him and being so gullible. Not to mention his bigger than anything crush on Jimin, Namjoon's literal brother in law.

Namjoon likes to wonder what Seokjin would do to Hoseok if he found out about it. As funny as it sounds in theory, Namjoon really hopes that day never comes. Because one, he wouldn't want to ruin his hyung's marriage. And two, having to go to Hoseok's funeral doesn't sound like the most inviting idea.

He busies himself watching TV for quite some time before realizing that he still needs to make dinner. Hoseok can't be guilt tripped into making it for him like every other night.

Namjoon sighs, getting up from the comfort of his sofa and practically dragging his feet to the kitchen. With Hoseok gone, the apartment is completely silence, Namjoon finally thinks it's time to pay attention to the details that he had been ignoring sharing his everyday with another person.

He watches the cabbage, chops them into long but easily edible bites and brings out the ready made kimchi sauce, all while silently observing the kitchen with new found interest.

He notes that what catches his attention the most is the big, large window looking out at the neighborhood. Despite owning a hospital as big as his, Namjoon (along with Hoseok) had decided to stay in a sub-urban area. It was way more comfortable than any city they could've chosen.

The outside of his apartment building is calm but not lifeless. A few cars pass through the well laid roads, children skip around happily with their friends, elderly taking their routined evening walks with the dogs. It's all just loud enough for Namjoon to not miss Hoseok's presence that much.

It's only when he's done preparing the jjigae to go with his kimchi that he notices the sudden calmness outside. It's already dark outside, orange lights lighting up the street. Namjoon goes back to his food. Of course it's dark already. He should quickly have dinner and try to fall asleep. It's going to be a bitch having to wake up early tomorrow.
